A third of a generation lost

By Tom Quiner

We need a Tomb for the Unborn Baby.
On this dark day, January 22nd, 41 years beyond the Roe v Wade and Doe v Bolton decisions that led to the legalization of abortion in all  50 states for all 9 months of pregnancy, we need to pause.
We need to reflect.
We need to pray.

The March for Life begins. Thanks to Quiner's Diner reader, Sally, for the photo.

And we need to March for Life.
Fifty-six million human beings are now dead due to human abortion, a third of a generation. The dead did nothing wrong. They weren’t criminals. They WERE fully human, fully alive. But they were inconvenient.
And their deaths were lucrative, helping to build a multi-billion dollar human abortion industry on the backs of their little victims.
America has endured but 2% of the casualties from war as we have from human abortion.
And yet there is no Tomb for the Unknown Baby.
We have a Tomb for the Unknown Soldier in recognition of Americans whose bodies were never recovered from far-flung battlefields.
We visit this tomb to honor their sacrifice, to thank them, to recognize their incalculable value to our nation.
We would visit the Tomb of the Unknown Baby for different reasons. We would go there to get on our knees to beg for their forgiveness, whether our family had experienced a human abortion personally or not.
We would apologize for being complicit in a society that has killed off its posterity, a third of a generation, simply because they were inconvenient and unwanted.
And we would  vow with every fiber of our being to do something about it. To talk with friends and neighbors and fellow parishioners who don’t see the light. To vote for pro life politicians. And to pray, pray, pray.
We must vow to never, ever utter that awful, hypocritical phrase, “although I am personally against abortion, I can’t impose my values on someone else.”
We simply cannot ever say something like that again standing over the tomb of 56 million victims, 56 million human beings, who were denied the right to life because we refused to stand up for something we believe in.
The United States of America is desperate for a Tomb for the Unknown Baby. Does one exist? Please, tell me.
In the meantime, pray for hundreds of thousands of kids and adults marching on behalf of Life this very moment in our nation’s capital.
Thanks to all you for bearing the elements for such a good and decent cause.
