Divine Mercy is yours

Sunday was Divine Mercy Sunday in the Catholic Church.

It is based on the mystical encounters a Polish nun, now known as St. Faustina, had with Christ in the early 20th century.

Jesus revealed his unfathomable mercy for man. According to St. Faustina, Jesus told her this, as she recounted in her famous diaries:

“I have opened my Heart as a living fountain of mercy. Let all souls draw life from it. Let them approach this sea of mercy with great trust. Sinners will attain justification, and the just will be confirmed in good. Whoever places his trust in My mercy will be filled with My divine peace at the hour of death.” (1520)

St. Faustina claimed this remarkable insight from her visions with Christ:

“I received a deeper understanding of divine mercy. Only that soul who wants it will be damned, for God condemns no one.” (1452)

I view salvation in a simple way. Christ has His hand extended to us. All we have to do is grab it. We know we’re not worthy. But his Divine Mercy is boundless.

Reach for Him. He awaits.

    I am excited that Pope Francis has now officially authorized next year to be an extraordinary jubilee celebrating God’s Divine Mercy! I understand the document is quite lengthy. The year begins Dec 8th of this year and ends on the feast of Christ the King next year. I’d argue we are in desperate need of a submission to His mercy!!
