Liberals loathe free speech

By Tom Quiner

Does free speech offend you?

This is the title of the new video from Prager University. The video points out the speech codes in place at our nation’s university that are meant to restrict conservative free speech.

Political correctness, as it is better known, helps to explain the rising fortunes of Donald Trump, the least PC-friendly candidate in the current presidential campaign.

As much as liberals loathe free speech, moderates and conservatives really like it, because that’s what makes America … America.

Mr. Trump doesn’t cower in the face of withering PC attacks on him. In fact, he doubles down and dishes it right back. The more defiant he is, the higher he rises in the polls.

Perhaps there is a lesson here for other candidates.

I disagree. They loathe free CONSERVATIVE speech. If it is speech they agree with, or speech that is offensive, no problem, as long as it does not promote a conservative point of view.

You are spot on. Thanks for the clarification.

Sanders seems to be having somewhat the same effect on the progressive side of things, but in the opposite direction. He is ready to really make us a socialist/communist ‘utopia’. Hillary (and Joe) will eventually have to take him on – won’t that be interesting?

I don’t know, Dennis, I think Hillary will veer left without a smattering of compunction. Heck, she already has. If she takes him on, she will most likely make it personal rather than ideological because that is how she operates.

That’s true and I also believe Hillary would go the personal route. I only say this because Sanders will likely force Hillary to be more of her real self out in the open – the more air time of the real Hillary the better. If he can force a few more Dem debates, that could really become interesting.

Yes, he won’t make it easy for Hillary to win a national election.

Tom and all, now we must speak about the disobedient liberals. To restrict free speech, as it has been done, first surreptitiously, then overtly, is part of the diabolical disorientation that has been propelled by the liberals who believe that they, and not God, are the arbiters of how people should live. These are the same people who support the Marxist regimes across the world but they do so because they have been set adrift by God because of the types and the frequency of sins they commit. God sets them free to drift into the disorientation. I know I sound like a broken record, lol, at times but there does not seem to be any reasonable explanation for so many to tout the same inane ideology over and over again.

To those of us who respect God, these dissenters do not seem to have any common sense, although the reason they have been set adrift is because they think they are more intelligent than God. They eschew His (the Creator’s) laws and worship themselves (the creature). How many times do we read in the Bible that this world is the opposite of His Kingdom. These idol worshipers are prideful (not meek); they are greedy instead of generous, disobedient to parents instead of obedient, disrespectful instead of respectful to proper authorities, boastful instead of humble, faithless instead of religious, insolent instead of obedient, gossipy instead of circumspect, and progenitors of evil instead of good.

Liberals are in a state of arrested development. And because God took away their common sense, they are all about the emotions, the guilt of what they could never resolve about themselves, instead of about reason. And if we call them on it, they cannot bear what their conscience makes them feel, and they will try to annihilate you by hurting your reputation, your business, your livelihood, your family, and sometimes you will pay with your life.

To build on your point, Barbie, I read in the National Catholic Register this morning that an exorcist said that pride is the Devil’s favorite sin. There is no shortage of pride on both sides of the political spectrum, but pride seems to animate the Left for the reason you stated, that man is smarter than God.

Who will be able to stand up against the withering, win at any cost, no holds barred, campaign attacks of the Democrats… other than Trump? He may not be all conservativess would like in a candidate… but he will enliven the debate, appeal across a broad spectrum of voters, and (I think) has the best chance to win. What’s the point of supporting people who may be more ideologically in line but will never win against the Democrat attack machine? Just saying….

    • quinersdiner on September 1, 2015 at 10:06 am

An interesting point. I do believe Marco Rubio can withstand the withering attack and turn it right back on them. I do NOT think Trump can stand up simply because his shtick will wear thin in short order.

        We’ll see… anything can happen.

Tom, I tend to agree with you on this one. I do like Rubio, but I think that Cruz is every bit as good at dishing it out as well. I really love the thought of Dr. Carson being our first black President, but I think he can be too soft spoken at times. Maybe if he were to run in a VP bid with Rubio or Cruz then we would have a dream team, and would pull plenty of minority votes away from the Dem candidate.
As for Trump, although I have enjoyed the humiliation of Hillary at his hands, I think he is a flash in the pan and that people on both sides will tire of him soon enough.

Astute analysis, Steve. Thanks for weighing in. I honestly like at least half a dozen of the candidates.

That is such a perfect description of how the Democrats fight, abcinsc. I am going to keep your post in my arsenal, lol. “Withering” is the key. It is no longer a hidden hostility but an all out war, an immoral and sometimes amoral hostility that takes freedom all the way over to license, a demonic “attack machine.” And many/most of them do it without shame. Those who feel some twinge of conscience would never dare speak up. They could not withstand the venom that would be turned on them, so they stay in the Party, associate with the evil and become inured to its effects. Where is the humanity? Seriously, the Republicans aren’t perfect but there is no comparison. The Dems show no moral compass.
