That is one of the best ways of stating the truth about abortion that I have heard. Let’s pray that it will have a positive effect on some young girl facing that choice.

When pro-abortionists defend aborting babies conceived in rape, I always want to say, “I’ll believe you’re sincere if you promise that you would immediately submit to death by dismemberment if you were to learn that the man you’ve always thought was your father turned out not to be your father, that your biological father was actually a rapist.” It’s way too easy for some people to be in favor of death as long as it’s someone else that’s getting the axe.

You of course are correct. That is a great way to put it. However, the human abortion crowd use rape as a smoke screen to permit unfettered human abortion.

They want people to believe that the majority of unwanted pregnancies are the result of rape, because of the natural sympathy that people feel for rape victims. But they’re beginning with an unproven assumption: that abortion is the best “solution” to the problem, and that therefore it would be unspeakably cruel to prohibit it. It always irritates me when pro-lifers fail to question that assumption. Pro-lifers need to ask pro-abortionists, every time the subject comes up, for the evidence that abortion benefits rape victims. There is no evidence, but our opponents have always assumed that they didn’t need any, since no one would challenge them on it.

Excellent advice! In fact, abortion is the worst “solution” for rape, according to researchers. This blog has written on the subject several times. Thanks for your very valued input.
