Who does the land of Israel really belong to?

By Tom Quiner

I just received this in my e-mail box.  It’s been forwarded around the world.  I don’t know who wrote it, but it is darn funny.  In case you didn’t see this yet, I think you’ll get a chuckle.

An ingenious example of Israeli humor, speech and politics occurred recently in the United Nations Assembly and made the world community smile… and set the record straight.

A representative from Israel began: ‘Before beginning my talk I want to tell you something about Moses.’

When he struck the rock and it brought forth water, he thought, ‘What a wonderful opportunity to have a bath!’

Moses removed his clothes, put them aside on the rock and entered the water. When he got out and wanted to dress, his clothes had vanished. A Palestinian had stolen them!

The Palestinian representative at the UN jumped up furiously and shouted, ‘What are you talking about? The Palestinians weren’t there then.’

GOOD ONE! in nearly every Old Testament Book (and in some of the New Testament) God declares that the area which is now known as the country of Israel was given to God’s Chosen People, the Jews! There are numerous accounts of battles with Israel’s perpetual enemies, the “Philistines”, whom Bible Scholars believe are the progenitors of today’s Palestinians. Obama’s arrogant promise to the Palestinians that he will give the City of Jerusalem to them is in direct opposition to God’s Promises to Israel! We can depend on God’s Promises!

That was a very funny story, and thats what it should remain as… a funny story.

But to use it to justify their right to the land is illogical.

The same story could be used by the American Indians in relation to the Eurpeon conquest of the Americas. They certainly were here before we ever arrived. But fortunately for us our forefathers came up with “manifest destiny” to justify our actions of expansion!
