3 Reasons Rick Santorum is for real

By Tom Quiner

Is Rick Santorum the Republican flavor of the month, or is he for real?

Rick Santorum is for real for three compelling reason.

1. Courage. He believes in traditional American values and will go to the mat for them, whatever the political price. His unwavering conviction is a breath of fresh air in a political climate of flip floppers.

2. He is smart. With sixteen years of congressional experience, he knows the workings of government. He knows how to connect the dots, meaning he knows how government policy can impact real people. The president is not smart in this regard. In addition, Mr. Santorum has a broad knowledge base on both foreign and domestic policy. In other words, he won’t have to learn on the job as the current occupant is attempting to do.

3. He has little baggage. Mitt Romney’s style is to destroy his rivals using his vast financial and political resources. Most notably, he has effectively taken Newt Gingrich out of the race by preying on Mr. Gingrich’s baggage. Rick Santorum has minimal baggage compared to every other serious candidate in the race. Barack Obama and Mitt Romney both carry serious baggage: their records. Romney is the father of Romneycare which required taxpayers to help pay for abortions. Obama has bankrupted us. He has imposed Romneycare on the entire country. And he has launched an assault on the country’s religious liberties with the Obama Mandate.

Whatever you may think of Rick Santorum, he is for real.
