Not really on topic but here it is:

While travelling this morning, I turned on WHO Radio so I could listen to Jan Mickelson. They were talking about a group of atheists who were against a cross being permanately erected on the 9/11 sight. And people wonder why atheists are always so “angry”.

To paraphrase, the radio caller essentially stated that atheists are a minority and need to learn to just shut up. Of course they both got a chuckle out of that.

I rarely tell people my beliefs because some Christians can get quite nasty. At a minimum you either get the eye roll or the look of pity.

I personally am not offended if the cross gets set up. I do think that since other religious people died there also, they should be entitled to put somehting up to represent their faith (even for those Muslims that died that day). I can only assume from past episodes Jan and even his caller would not be ok with that.

“People who want to share their religious views with you almost never want you to share yours with them.” Dave Barry

Makes me appreciate your openness to at least share on these issues, Tom.

Thanks for writing. I like the atheist perspective, because I want to convert you. Even more, I pray for your conversion. I like to know where you’re coming from and try to respond accordingly when time and wisdom allow.

One of my sons is married to a Catholic girl. I sat next to their Priest for the rehearsal dinner, and not once did I get hit by lightning. I heard rumors that bets had been placed 🙂

I am not out to convert you. Since this is a blog, I do feel it is my duty to point out certain things. Did you get a chance to watch “For the Bible Tells me So”?
