Biden: babbling buffoon or a bully? Both.

By Tom Quiner

Joe Biden: A picture is worth a thousand words.

I heard about seven minutes of the vice presidential debate on the radio. Both participants, Joe Biden and Paul Ryan, sounded pretty good in that brief snippet.

I raced from my car to turn on the television and watch it live.

Frankly, I don’t know what to say. Really, I don’t.

The Joe Biden I witnessed last night was a man I intensely dislike. I have not felt that way toward Mr. Biden prior to last night.

His schtick, so to speak, was to bully Paul Ryan and moderator Martha Raddatz. How? By interrupting. By talking over Mr. Ryan and Ms. Raddatz. By simply being a jerk.

Joe Biden had no defense for the the Obama/Biden record, so he was reduced to base incivility. By interrupting the cool and collected Paul Ryan some 82 times (on top of the 31 times the moderator interrupted Ryan), he attempted to prevent listeners from hearing how a Romney/Ryan administration would govern.

It’s a typical liberal tactic. We saw it at the Iowa State Fair when Paul Ryan spoke. An Obama supporter simply shouted him down so others couldn’t hear his message. That was Biden’s tactic, to simply shout down Paul Ryan to suppress his message.

I don’t know how he did it, but Paul Ryan kept his cool. What a gentlemen. What a class act. Paul Ryan was presidential. Joe Biden wasn’t.

Joe Biden embarrassed our country with his school boy smirks and mugging. What a buffoon.

Joe Biden reacting to Iran sanctions

The Wall Street Journal’s Peggy Noonan simply said Joe Biden confused strength with aggression.

Would you really want Joe Biden to be your president if, God forbid, something happened to the President? Are you comfortable having the man you witnessed last night a heartbeat away from the presidency?

He had no defense for his record. Mr. Biden was reduced to attacking, dissembling, and gooning his way through 90 minutes of what turned out to be pure hell for the viewers.

Fox News’ Greta Van Sustern tweeted that she would have turned the TV off if she didn’t have to watch that god-awful performance for her job.

One of the most chilling situations facing the entire world today is Iran’s coming nuclear bomb. Shouldn’t that have warranted some sort of serious discussion? Yet Biden laughed his way through the discussion about Iran sanctions.

Some of the tweets last night were telling. Movie critic, Roger Ebert, a liberal, tweeted:

“Joe! Stop smiling and laughing!”

The Washington Time’s Emily Miller tweeted:

“Biden laughing when he disagrees with Ryan is so annoying. Like a child in time out.”

Comedy Central’s Indecision had a zinger:

“If this keeps up much longer, Joe Biden’s going to sprain his laugh muscles.”

We can only pray that Mr. Biden’s mouth is in a sling today.

Most telling for me was his totally limp and unconvincing response to the question about how his Catholic faith affects decision-making.

What a dark contrast he created against Ryan, who answered beforehand with an eloquent, unequivocal pro-life message.

      Yes. Thanks for writing.

Too many “Catholics” espouse the same sickening philosophy as Joe-Bob Biden… something like “I do believe life begins at conception, BUT I could never impose my beliefs on someone else”… Jesus said in Rev. 3:15,16 “I know your works: you are neither cold nor hot. Would that you were either cold or hot! So, because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth” .

Biden would say Jesus is wrong. He knows better than the Almighty.

A great friend of mine hit the nail on the the head with this:

For me, Biden made it really personal last night: The VP was disrespectful and condescending toward a decent and courteous man; an older man, a seasoned veteran of the political arena acted like a bully and a bore, while the younger man was the model of class and civility.

On top of it all, Biden made a mockery of our faith, our Christian faith, not just the Catholic faith: To say ‘I believe,’ but then to say ‘I believe but it doesn’t matter’ what I believe when it comes to making laws, setting policy, leading our nation, in short, serving the common good, is the epitome of the ‘sounding gong and banging cymbal.’

Biden lowered himself to the level of a carny, while Ryan showed himself to be world-class diplomat in the making.

My friend is both really smart and very astute.

      Very well-stated.

Here’s another. Earlier in the day Gov. Mike Huckabee said Democrats expect Biden to do well in the debate provided he showed up sober with his pants on. LOL. And Mike Huckabee is a charitable guy. Now, with the debate the country had imposed upon it Biden the babbling buffoon and bully, the disrespectful and condescending bore, and, given that when he got up at the end we all saw he was in fact wearing pants, what does that mean?

Hmmm… interesting question. Maybe that explains his performance!
