    It is true that our government should not fund abortions. Similarly, our government should not fund research on embryos. I don’t see under our Constitution where our government was granted the power to do medical research beyond communicable diseases, or the power to provide medical care.

    On the other hand, I don’t see where our Constitution gives power to the government to prohibit privately paid abortions or medical research.

    It is interesting, and somewhat ironic, that government tables listing income levels that define poverty-level income by family size consider a pregnant woman as two people.

        No joke. I did not research this deeply, but I was referencing the table at http://coverageforall.org/pdf/FHCE_FedPovertyLevel.pdf . In the lead-in paragraph, it states that pregnant women count as two people. As time allowed, I was going to look further into it.
