“Family dysfunction” was the motivation for the bombers

By Tom Quiner

“The whole narrative confirms that while the radical motivations of the Tsarnaev brothers — and perhaps, it remains to be seen, some of their training — came from international jihadist movements, the bombing was also the product of family dysfunction, youthful nihilism, and a pattern of low-level crimes escalating into a very major one.”Boston Globe editorial May 3.

What an amazing quote from the liberal Boston Globe.

Why does the Mainstream Media work so hard to suggest that Islamic religious beliefs have practically nothing to do with Islamic behavior?

And yet April’s Monthly Jihad Report, as tallied by the “Religion of Peace” website, makes a compelling case that Islamic violence is very much motivated by Islamic belief:

Monthly Jihad Report
April, 2013

 Jihad Attacks:

202

 Countries:

25

 Religions:

5

 Dead Bodies:

957

 Critically Injured:

2403

Here in the U.S., what is the connection between the Boston Marathon bombers, the World Trade Tower terrorists, the Pentagon terrorists, the Time Square terrorist, the Shoe Bomber terrorist, the Fort Hood shooter, and who knows how many others? What IS the connection?

Islam.

Political correctness prevents the MSM and the president and his administration from saying what everyone already knows.

Family dysfunction, yeah, that’s right, caused by some unjust U.S. policy here and abroad. We should all be ashamed. Give them more entitlement money funded by the U.S. taxpayer.

Didn’t we already give them a hundred grand? Maybe it should have been two-hundred.

“Them”. All Muslims are seen as “them”.

Honestly, is this how Jesus would respond? I really would like your answer on this.

“Honestly, is this how Jesus would respond? I really would like your answer on this.”

Jesus would say, “Love your neighbor as yourself,” which Christians are called to do. Unfortunately, Islamic jihadists adopt the philosophy, “kill the infidels.” A just society wants to protect the innocent from those who wish to harm the innocent, don’t they? The number of Muslims who desire to kill infidels around the world is shockingly high. The carnage is shockingly high. We need to stop dancing around the issue and calling each new atrocity “family dysfunction” or “workplace violence.” We need to clearly identify the problem and can the political correctness.

Bob when I used the term “them” I referred in this case to the Boston Marathon bombers, who were/are, apparently Muslim. Radical Muslim, jihadist, whatever. I don’t care whether they were or not. They did what they did, for whatever reason they did, and they are who they are.

They are the subject of the ridiculous Boston Globe apologist drivel in the column Tom quotes.

In addition to the lame assertion of family dysfunction, the column also suggests youthful nihilism for possible speculation.

        Really?

Are we supposed to feel better if it were that or the aforementioned family dysfunction? We’re supposed to feel better that they murdered in cold blood because things weren’t so great at home or because they were spoiled brats?

        That’s absurd.

And even were it true, the world is about all burnt out on the whole boo-hoo-poor-me-I’m-not-responsible-for-my own-actions whine.

This is about the media not calling things what they are, being apologists for terrorists.

“They” are terrorists, whether they are Muslim or not, suffering from family dysfunction or youthful nihilism or not.

The fact is, there is a clear and undeniable pattern with radical Islam. You cannot deny this, nor can the Boston Globe, try though they might.

The fools in the media running apologist interference for terrorists will get no more consideration for the worth of their life should they encounter such terrorists face to face than did Daniel Pearl; by all accounts a good human being who put himself in harms way, ultimately sacrificing his life, leaving his wife and child without a husband and father, because he thought he was doing the right thing by telling the terrorists’ side of the story as a journalist, and moreso because he committed the crime of being where he was as a Jew.

You can only assume I meant “them” as the Muslim terrorists who happened to kill as they did in Boston that day, as they planned to kill more. You cannot assume I or Tom, meant anything other than that, but that we also meant to point out the obvious, that there is a clear and undeniable pattern with radical Islam and the murder of innocent people.

We don’t hate Muslims. We don’t hate anyone, because our Catholic faith calls us to love our neighbor as ourselves and to love our enemy. It does not call us to pretend it’s hunky-dory when people, any people, kill other people because their victim’s values don’t match up with their own, or, because the victims are not Muslim.

Our faith does not call us to put our head in the sand, nor does it call us to pretend anything isn’t what it is.

The fact that we gave “them” public assistance to sit here in the U.S. and reap the benefits of being in America, take tax payer money, and plot to kill Americans, is disgusting insult added to horrible injury, nothing less.

It is also an example that any talk of immigration reform that does not begin and end with securing borders and enforcing existing laws is a farce and a waste of time. It also proves that the screening for public assistance is substandard as well.

You can assume however, Bob, that my use of the term “them” in joking about the path to entitlements does refer to anyone who gets entitlements as a result of liberal boo-hoo-poor-me (poor-them) ideology, versus genuine need which then of course opens up the whole category of “them” infinitely.

Of course it should have been two-hundred-grand; because in the alternate universe of the left, tossing more good money after bad, when it did not produce good results the first time is always the way.

    Tom-
I saw on Fox News the other day that a state had proposed a bill that would prohibit law enforcement from describing suspects based on their race, creed, color, religion, gender, or sexual orientation. I can’t find a link but this just goes to show you the breadth that some idiot PC pushers will go to in order to protect someone’s “feelings”. All I could say was “Are you kidding me??”

    • Shawn Pavlik on May 6, 2013 at 2:54 pm

      Ah….found the link:

      http://www.pacovilla.com/?p=91771

Would prohibit releasing that info to the public….

        … unless they are a right-winger, right? 😉

      • Bob Vance on May 6, 2013 at 3:09 pm

Lynchings were fairly common here in the U.S., especially in the south. I remember the actor Henry Fonda telling how, as a child, he watched a small group of people hang a black man.

One or two people would get a large group of people all upset and then they would go out and get some “old fashioned justice”. Is that what you are promoting here?

      • Bob Vance on May 6, 2013 at 3:10 pm

The lynching Mr. Fonda saw was in Omaha, Nebraska BTW.

  3. Bob Vance on May 6, 2013 at 3:04 pm

Why do you seem so upset what these people think?

Do you think (like some have suggested) we should deport all Muslims?

Should we be bring them out into the public square and flog them all?

    What is your ultimate solution?

    • quinersdiner on May 6, 2013 at 3:21 pm

Very good question, Bob. It seems we have to accurately identify the threat, which is Islamic jihad. It’s difficult to confront and repel an international assault on the civilized world if you refuse to clearly identify the enemy combatants. By identifying the source of Islamic violence and publicly repudiating it, it puts pressure on peaceful Muslims to speak out against the carnage.

  4. Bob Vance on May 6, 2013 at 4:22 pm

“We need to clearly identify the problem and can the political correctness.”

Isn’t that what the editorial is trying to do? It admits they were influenced by foriegn radicals. What made these two cross that line? If it were just about the religion, we would have bombs going off everywhere.

Back in WW2, we rounded up lots of Japanese Americans and put them in concentration camps. Apparently the Germans-Americans could be trusted. Is that something you and your friends here support? It would seem Shawn would be ok with it. How about you?

I personally knew a guy who got beat up because he “looked” Iranian. He was actually third generation Italian-American, but what would three drunk white guys from Iowa know. This was back when Iran had our hostages and we needed justice.

    • quinersdiner on May 6, 2013 at 4:43 pm

No, I’m not in favor of rounding up anyone. I doubt if Shawn is either. Don’t you find it strange, though, that this guy leaves the country for six months? The Russians warn us about him. The FBI doesn’t take it seriously. This guy didn’t have money … who financed the trip? Was it political correctness that let him slip through the cracks? This administration is more concerned about pro lifers than jihadists it would seem.

      • Bob Vance on May 6, 2013 at 5:20 pm

It would seem the ball was dropped here as it was back on 911 and Benghazi, Why are our intelligence gathering agencies still having these kinds of issues?

  5. Bob Vance on May 7, 2013 at 7:24 am

    Lisa,

If we can figure out what triggered these two “losers” to do such a heinous act, then maybe we can keep others from making that same leap.

Do you think this editorial is asking for some form of forgiveness for these two terrorists? I don’t know of anyone who thinks he should get leniency. I know I don’t.

As for immigration, it’s my understanding these were legal immigrants, one of whom became a citizen.

    • quinersdiner on May 7, 2013 at 7:51 am

“Lisa, If we can figure out what triggered these two “losers” to do such a heinous act, then maybe we can keep others from making that same leap.”

Bob, isn’t it obvious what the “trigger” is? It’s Islam.
