Who actually said this?

By Tom Quiner

Republicans were brutal to the President. Listen to the aftermath of an amazing landslide victory. A reporter asked the  president:

“Thank you, Mr. President. With all due respect, John Boehner has called you incompetent, a liar, the emperor with no clothes and, as recently as yesterday, dangerous. How will you work with someone who has such little respect for your leadership and who is third in line to the presidency?”

The president was classy.

This is how Mr. Obama replied:

“I’ve been around politics a long time. I understand when campaigns end and I know when governing begins. And I’m going to work with people of both parties. You know, look, people say unfortunate things at times. But if you hold grudges in this line of work, you’re never going to get anything done. And my intention is to get some things done, and soon—we’re start visiting with him Friday with the idea of coming together.”

***

Okay, this did NOT happen this way.

Change John Boehner’s name to Nancy Pelosi.

Change Mr. Obama’s name to Mr. George W. Bush.

THEY are the ones who said those things back in 2006.

Mr. Bush was classy.

Nancy Pelosi was the “hateful” one.

I put the word hateful in quotes since liberals are now suggesting that the only reason Democrats took a bath on Tuesday was because of hatred Republicans have supposedly fomented against Barack Obama.

Could you even imagine the outcry if John Boehner had actually said something as HATEFUL as a Democrat actually DID say?

Barack Obama was classless in defeat this week.

He took no blame. Worse, he was defiant. He made it clear to anyone who would listen that if the new Republican majority in Congress didn’t cave to his will on immigration reform, he would simply do it himself.

Screw you, American voters.

The presidency is all about Barack Obama, not Americans.

He’ll stand tall for people who broke laws to enter this country. He’ll fight to the death anyone who wants to check IDs to be sure that those who entered this country illegally don’t vote illegally.

But will he listen to the will of legal voters in this country?

His response: “I’m the guy who’s elected by everybody.”

Of course, he got it wrong. He represents everyone whether they voted for him or not.

He fails to accept that he’s just been rejected by a majority of voters. If you voted Republican, what Mr. Obama is really saying is, “you don’t count. It’s all about me.”

Wasn’t he the one who said, “I’m not on the ballot this November, but make no mistake…my policies are on the ballot this November each and every one.” Well, Mr. President, we have rejected those policies…each and every one.

Here is an area where Mr. Obama and I are in agreement. He was certainly on the ballot as far as I was concerned.

    Tom-
I posted this on facebook, and got this response from one of my “friends”:

Visited the web site from which your post was taken. Pretty scary stuff there. No subtlety – simply twisted truths, outright lies and innuendo. Governing is a delicate thing. Attempting to be equitable and fair to everyone is challenging.

My reply was: What twisted truths, outright lies, or innuendo? It’s the truth, plain and simple. And yes, the truth is pretty scary, sometimes, especially when it comes to this president.

Totally agree with your reply. Thanks for sharing my blogpost.
