“Their God is my God.”

By Tom Quiner

The man from Chad kneeled upon the beach from Hell.

He gazed to his left, and then his right. He saw 20 men, all Coptic Christians, prepared to answer a question that would determine whether they live or die:

“Will you deny Christ?”

One by one, the men refused.

One by one, a Muslim clad in an orange suit grabbed the Christ-affirming man by his hair, yanking his head backward to facilitate the beheading process.

The last words of each of the 20 murdered Christians?

“O, my Lord Jesus!”

The man from Chad was not a Christian. He had an easy out. Since he had never accepted Jesus in the first place, what would be the big deal to deny Him at this critical juncture in his life?

The guy probably had a wife and kid. Obviously, his response was a no-brainer.

And yet he watched the horror of seeing a man literally lose his head because he refused to deny Jesus, the Christ, as his lord and savior.

Then he watched a second guy do the same thing.

Soon, twenty severed heads littered the bloody beach from Hell.

“Will YOU deny Christ?”

The man from Chad had witnessed something extraordinary. Twenty men had given their lives in the name of Jesus Christ.

The man from Chad looked at the killers and simply said,

“Their God is my God.”

And a twenty-first head completed the massacre on this hellish Libyan beach.

The media missed the detail about the man from Chad being a non-Christian, which was corrected by the Ahram-Canadian News after last month’s (latest) crime against humanity committed by Muslims.

Christianity is under attack in Africa.  It is being eradicated in the Mideast one rape, beheading, and crucifixion at a time.

Actually, that’s not quite true, the killings are taking place in bunches, as fast as murderous Muslims can sharpen their knives.

I attended a Catholic Men’s Conference over the weekend. One of the speakers was a guy named Patrick Madrid, a professional “Catholic apologist.” In other words, he’s a guy who defends the Christian faith with a Catholic perspective.

He said something quite provocative. He invoked Saul of Tarsus, the enemy of Christianity, the man who imprisoned and killed Christians in the name of his faith.

You know the story. He was knocked off of his horse by Christ and became an evangelist for the fledgling Christian faith. The spread of Christianity was accelerated by the remarkable outreach of “St. Paul.”

Mr. Madrid wondered aloud, “I just wonder if there might be a modern day Saul living the life as a Muslim that Christ will use to lead Muslims to Christ?”

In light of Islam’s war on Christianity and all things civilized, it seems like a pipe dream. But then, who would have ever thought a St. Paul would come along? Certainly not Saul of Tarsus.

American Christians seem disturbingly disconnected from the atrocities committed against their fellow Christians around the world.

Let us pray for our brothers and sisters in Christ by invoking the words of St. Thomas Aquinas, so beautifully sung above in the Great Hall of Latvian University:

O, salutary Victim,
Who expandest the door of heaven,
Hostile wars press,
Give strength; bear aid.

To the Triune Lord,
May there be everlasting glory;
that life without end He
to us give in our homeland.
Amen.

Wow, what a witness those men were, to give the man from Chad their last testimony and for him to accept. Beautiful post. We must pray for all humanity. Even those who commit the atrocities.

Amen. It is a difficult prayer, but a worthy one.

Reblogged this on Truth in Palmyra and commented:
Readers….if you think the strength of your own example for Christ doesn’t really matter…think again. Another’s eternal destiny could be in the balance.

      Well-stated, Wally.

Thank you Tom. Rather sobering isn’t it?

        • quinersdiner on March 9, 2015 at 5:21 pm

Sobering beyond words. It really makes you think.

Our Lord’s heart must be overflowing with joy, along with that of all the angels and saints, at this virtuous act. Imagine how this beloved man was received by Christ! Talk about drawing the greater good out of evil!!

    Tom-
That 21st man? I think he WAS a Christian…there…at the last. Like the thief on the cross, I think he was swept to Paradise, there to reside eternally with Jesus Christ and the Father. So saying he was a non-Christian when he died may be incorrect.

    • quinersdiner on March 9, 2015 at 9:56 pm

Yes, he had a conversion just like the thief on the cross. What a moving witness. What power in Christ.

In a world where people question the very existence of a Creator, here is a clear example of ‘grace to help in time of need,’

Dare the infidel read this account in his easy chair and not know in his heart of hearts there will be a day of reckoning. Yes, he knows.

And what would HE do in such an instance? Better question: what would I do?

Great post here. To God be the glory

What a reception these men received in heaven. Their commitment to the Lord, became the testimony the man from chad needed. They are all rejoicing in the presence of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Beautiful.

I know Christians cannot fathom this….but what if Allah is the real God? Life is right now, on this planet, once it has gone there is no other.

You present 3 competing religions: Christianity, evangelical atheism, and Islam. In a lifetime of discernment and prayer, I’ve found the case for Christ is compelling.

    • parrillaturi on March 13, 2015 at 6:50 pm

I believe in the God of the Bible. Their god, according to their prophet, encourages you to kill the non-believers, or those who blaspheme their prophet. How many so called infidels, have Christians killed, for spewing blasphemous rhetoric about Jesus? None. How many Christians have been killed? You do the math. Blessings.

      • quinersdiner on March 13, 2015 at 7:39 pm

Maybe they don’t teach math in Islam.

Who was the witness at this event? Who was the reporter? WasTom Quiner there?

    • quinersdiner on March 13, 2015 at 7:17 am

The event was video taped by the Islamic killers. Ahram-Canadian News did the translations and discovered the 21st victim wasn’t Christian.
