Common ground on human abortion

By Tom Quiner

Democrats and Republicans can actually find common ground on the vexing issue of human abortion.

We know abortion has nothing to do with women’s reproductive health. Ninety-nine times out of a hundred, it involves a healthy mom carrying a healthy child. Abortion never makes either patient better. We know it is almost always fatal to the baby; and it carries risks for the mom as well. Health has nothing to do with the decision.

Democrats and Republicans can agree.

We know that Planned Parenthood uses tax payer money for human abortion. We’ve given them some $4 Billion over the past decade. Our cash goes into their master pot. This money is fungible. In other words, it can be used for anything PP wants to use it for: salaries, rent, abortion, mammogram equipment. In other words, taxpayers who consider human abortion to be gravely immoral are being forced to subsidize something that violates their conscience.

Democrats and Republicans can agree.

Although Planned Parenthood has claimed that they provide mammogram screening as part of their menu of women’s reproductive health services, we know that’s not true. Live Action had women hit the phones and call PP clinics throughout the nation. They learned that Planned Parenthood does NOT provide mammogram screenings. They were purposefully untruthful. Rather, they refer women to clinics with more comprehensive services.

Democrats and Republicans can agree.

Some 13,000 women’s reproductive health clinics are spread throughout the country that do not offer human abortion services. So if Planned Parenthood were defunded as Republicans are demanding, taxpayer funds would simply be reallocated to legitimate clinics that include mammograms in their menu of reproductive health services.

Democrats and Republicans can agree.

Planned Parenthood carefully extracts brains, lungs, gonads, and other body parts from the bodies and of aborted babies and sells them for profit. We know all the grisly details thanks to the efforts of the Center for Medical Progress. Good or bad, we know this takes place thanks to a series of 10 undercover videos they have been released to the media.

Democrats and Republicans can agree.

And finally, we know that at times Planned Parenthood births the baby live to keep its organs “fresh.” They admit it. Carly Fiorina responded to the 7th video in the series (at the 5:57 mark with a post-abortive baby lying in a dish with its legs kicking):

“I dare Hillary Clinton [and] Barack Obama to watch these tapes. Watch a fully-formed fetus on the table, its heart beating, its legs kicking, while someone says, ‘We have to keep it alive to harvest its brain.’ This is about the character of our nation.” [You can watch Fiorina’s remarks above.]

It’s all on video. Democrats and Republicans can agree. This IS all about the character of our nation.

She sure nailed it. Showed the “Boys” she’s not afraid to show up to a fight, carrying a cannon.

She’s a force to be reckoned with.

I am a bit concerned that she was fired from HP. I know she tried to explain that, but it is always good to know both sides of the issue.

Harlan, yes it is a concern. I think the issue requires vetting, which is why it was a legitimate question to direct at her during the debate. Governor Christie did some serious grandstanding by chastising both Trump and Fiorina for talking about their records, but they were asked. I’ve heard Fiorina’s response several time and have done some reading on the subject from her detractors. I suspect the truth is murky, as corporate politics can be. So your point is very well taken. Thanks for writing.
