Carly handles pro abortion heckler in Iowa City

By Tom Quiner

Iowa City is perhaps the most liberal town in Iowa.

Home to the University of Iowa, from which all three of my children graduated, it is a community comfortable with their #1 rank for per capita abortions in Iowa.

Carly Fiorina stepped into the lion’s den yesterday and not surprisingly, was confronted by a pro abortion detractor.

You can watch the exchange above. The audio quality isn’t great, but if you listen closely, the abortion advocate is no match for Carly. True to form, the abortion advocate pivots and demands to know what Carly plans to do with all those babies if they’re not aborted.

Think about the clash ideologies on display. The liberal demands to know, “well, if you won’t let us kill a million kids a year, what are going to do with them after they’re born?”

The suggestion is, of course, that the mother and father have zero responsibility for their child. But even more, a statement like this is a “lazy slander of the pro life movement,” which is a great title of an article which refutes liberals’ contention.

Pro lifers are engaged with helping mothers, dads, babies, toddlers, kids, families and communities from conception to natural death.

They’re doing it outside of government. They’re doing it with private dollars.

The Catholic Church, in particular, donates a shocking amount of man-hours, dollars, and love into helping children and moms throughout the world.

Abortion advocates, like the woman who confronted Carly, slander the pro life movement with patently false statements suggesting pro lifers don’t help kids after they’re born.

It’s nonsense.

Thanks to Carly Fiorina for her strong, clear response to the misguided abortion zealot.

I wish I had a dollar for every time I’ve heard “anti-abortionists only care about babies before they’re born.” In the first place, even if it were true, how would that make it acceptable to slice and dice unborn babies and flush them down the drain? In the second place, it’s a lie, as the article you linked above makes abundantly clear. In the third place, in case the pro-abortionists haven’t noticed, killing babies after they’re born is already against the law. All pro-lifers are asking is that the same courtesy be extended to the ones that still reside in the womb.

      Your logic is impeccable.
