Marco Rubio for President 9

By Tom Quiner

Here is what I plan on saying at tonight’s Iowa caucuses:

***

My name is Tom Quiner. I think I’m a lot like you.

There is something I like about every single Republican candidate for president. And there are some things with which I disagree with every single one of them.

I think I’m like you in another way.

I don’t think America can afford four more years of American decline at the hands of run-amuck liberalism. A Hillary Clinton presidency is a guarantee of moral rot, fiscal decline, and national insecurity that could actually leave us longing for the days of Bill Clinton.

God help me for saying that.

Republicans must nominate a winner.

The winning formula is really quite simple.  A Republican candidate for president must be unapologetically conservative, and he or she absolutely must present this message in a positive, inspirational style.

There is one, and only one, candidate who can pull this mission off in a Reaganesque way, and that man is Senator Marco Rubio.

Rubio is strong. Rubio is conservative. Rubio inspires.

Did you know that out of 435 members in Congress, Marco Rubio is the 8th most Conservative?

He is more conservative than conservative Iowa Congressman, Steve King, or the iconic conservative Iowan Senator, Charles Grassley.

Now get this: According to the Heritage Action scorecard, Mr. Rubio has a 94% conservative voting record.

Compare that to these Iowans in Congress:

√ 77% for Steve King

√ 70% for Rod Blum

√ 65% for David Young

√ 59% for Senator Joni Ernst

√ 59% for Senator Charles Grassley

√ 16% for Dave Loebsack

He is even more conservative than Rand Paul who has a 90% conservative voting record.

The American Conservative Union gives him a lifetime rating of 98 compared to Senator Grassley’s lifetime rating of 83.81.

He has consistently received perfect or near-perfect scores from groups like the NRA, the Family Research Council, and Citizens Against Government Waste, who have labeled him a “Taxpayer Super Hero.”

The pro abortion group, NARAL, hates him, giving him a zero rating, while National Right to Life has given him a perfect 100 rating in two straight cycles.

When he ran for the Senate in Florida in 2010, the Republican establishment supported then-Governor, the moderate Charlie Crist.

Rubio won, and Christ left the party, running as an independent, eventually becoming a Democrat.

And finally, according to the RealClearPolitics head-to-head polling data, Rubio is the only Republican candidate who beats both Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders in head-to-head  match-ups. In fact, Sanders beats Trump by 5.3 points and Cruz by 3.3, while Rubio wins.

I belabor Senator Rubio’s record out of necessity. Some of his opponents suggest that he is some sort of moderate-to-liberal “establishment” candidate, despite his sterling conservative credentials.

This is completely and totally false. Don’t buy into this lie.

Instead, buy into his noble, transcendent vision for our country and get ready for a new American century.

Join me in electing THE single candidate most likely to prevail against the Clinton Machine: Marco Rubio.

    • Thanks, Lisa. There is confusing narrative that abounds which characterizes Rubio as the “establishment candidate.” If this is true, he is the most conservative, non-beltway establishment candidate in the history of establishment candidates. I think this is demonstrated by his willingness to give up his Senate seat whether he wins or loses the presidential nomination. Thanks for writing, and for supporting such a good candidate!

  1. Cruz and Rubio did well. Hopefully Cruz will get 2nd in NH, and then on to SC. Lots will be gone after their showing today. Bush at 3%?? Hahahaha

  2. Good ob tonight, Tom! My distant-distant-distant cousin finished a strong third. What Republicans need to remember, is the theoretical matchups vs Hillary or Bernie make sense. Of the three, Marco would lose some Tea party votes, but he gains the large middle which Cruz can/t count on and the religious and women/ minorities which Trump doesn’t relate to very well..

    • Rubio won my caucus tonight easily. I went down to his rally afterwards, and the energy was incredible. Rubio exceeded pollsters’ expectations more than anyone tonight. Another strong showing next week should make this a solid 3-man race.

  3. He’s a dandy, Tom.
    But I’m stick’in with Rick.
God bless America and thank you for participating in the process 🙂
