A season of disillusionment

By Tom Quiner

It’s not easy being a conservative.

The IRS targets conservative 501c corporations.

The nation’s highest law enforcement authorities exonerate the liberal candidate, Hillary Clinton, even though she apparently violated federal law, lied about it, and then destroyed the evidence.

The liberal candidate is comfortable calling anyone who disagrees with her as being deplorable.

Her operatives are vocal in their disdain for Catholic teachings and cultivate subversive groups to undermine the Church.

No one talks about fiscal sanity.

The two major parties have fielded flawed candidates, neither one of whom is a conservative. The Republican candidate, Donald Trump, is really an independent who ran as a populist within the framework of the Republican Party … and won!

For whom shall we vote?

I know many, many conservatives who refuse to vote for Trump. They’re simply disillusioned. I understand. Trump is a man of flawed character who is no conservative.

I participated in an email exchange today that discussed an op-ed piece published by Ari Fleisher, former press secretary for George W. Bush.

Fleisher is a good guy. I like him. I respect him. But I disagree with him when he says he is going to leave the ballot for president blank.

He speaks for a lot of Republicans. My response:

I’m voting for Trump.

The reason is simple:  abortion.

Hillary supports her party’s platform to rescind the Hyde Amendment and the Helms Amendment. In other words, she doesn’t just want human abortion to be safe, legal, and rare, she wants me to pay for it. And she wants to export human abortion to the world, paid for by Catholic and pro life Christian taxpayers.

I cannot imagine anything more repugnant.  Except, that it gets worse.

She wants to pressure Catholic doctors and hospitals to perform abortions.

She wants me and you to be complicit in intrinsic evil.  A vote for anyone other than Trump, or even leaving a blank ballot, is a vote for Hillary and more abortion, more loss of human life.

Hillary Clinton makes a mockery of the American Creed that proudly affirms that each human person is endowed with God-given rights of Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness.

I don’t like Trump.  I don’t even agree with him on some key issues.  I don’t even trust him to be a pro life president.

But I totally trust that Hillary Clinton will do everything in her power to expand human abortion and make me pay for it.

I won’t do it.

I’m voting for Trump to save the lives of the preborn.

I’m voting for Trump, too. My decision a few weeks ago was to write in a candidate. I’ll prayerfully vote for Trump on Tuesday, and then I’ll pray for our country. It’s the best I can do under the circumstances.

I don’t have the exact quote, but Pope John Paul II said that when there is not a clear choice for good, [politicians and lawmakers] are obliged to cast a vote for that which will do the most toward fighting evil.

My vote for Trump is a vote against evil.

Here’s a message for you, Hillary: We’re religious, and our conservative beliefs won’t change. They can’t. It’s time for you to “get with the times” and realize that there’s another way of looking at life that’s as timeless as our creator. It doesn’t fluctuate with the trend of the day. It’s not too late for you to realize the truth that your way of looking at the world is flawed and that You. Just. Might. Be. Wrong. I’ll be praying for you.

Hi Lori. I also pray for her health, and also pray that Hillary will finally see the light, and convert before it’s too late. She and her blind followers have become so blind, that they, in their ignorance, have shunned the Lord, and have chose an evil path. The day of reckoning is at hand.

If one votes for him, ones has tried. We don’t know what he can or will do. Knowing what she will do holds us accountable for it. If one enables her w/ a vote or by abstaining, one may have to answer for that. One may be held accountable as if one committed the very act itself. Thats a big sin to account for.

I agree. Another important reason is the appointees to the SCOTUS!
