Abe Lincoln speaks to 2016 America 3

unknown“We have been the recipients of the choicest bounties of Heaven; we have been preserved these many years in peace and prosperity; we have grown in numbers, wealth, and power as no other nation has ever grown. But we have forgotten God. We have forgotten the gracious hand which preserved us in peace and multiplied and enriched and strengthened us, and we have vainly imagined, in the deceitfulness of our hearts, that all these blessings were produced by some superior wisdom and virtue of our own. Intoxicated with unbroken success, we have become too self-sufficient to feel the necessity of redeeming and preserving grace, too proud to pray to the God that made us.” – Abraham Lincoln

  1. The rule of law and God’s divine intervention has made us. Many 3rd world nations that languish in poverty have all the natural blessings needed to provide a good life to their people. Lawless gvts. put it all in their pockets. We have a bunch trying to do this too. We kick God out of our society and elect lawless people b/c they say pretty things. It’s how every 3rd world dictator got where he is. God blesses all nations. It’s gvt that creates pernicious poverty. I fear God will turn his face from us if he hasnt yet.

  2. A pleasure to see you’re still around, Mr. Quiner. I’ve been off WordPress for a couple of years while we welcomed baby #5 and bid a sad adieu to my husband’s mom, but should be chiming in with some regularity again. Peace be with you. – Kelly Lucia

    • How wonderful to hear from you! I have missed you and been aware of your absence. Congratulations on the addition to your family, and condolences on the loss of your mother-in-law. I lost mine last year. She had lived with us for fifteen years and was one of my best friends, so I can understand the depth of your loss. Blessings on your day. I look forward to hearing from you in the future.
