I’m back from a ten day trip to Alaska.
I was frequently without internet access, so it was challenging keeping up with the news. While I was gone, I posted some back posts on the death of a truly evil man, Fidel Castro.
There’s another piece of news I’ve already blogged on that’s worth revisiting: “Obama and Trump on lobbying: a study in contrasts.” Donald Trump is taking a harder stance against lobbyists than either Barack Obama or Bill Clinton.
Dick Morris goes into more detail on this story above. It’s worth listening to.
Donald Trump said anyone who goes to work for his administration is banned from becoming a lobbyist for five years after they leave government service. Morris said Bill Clinton did the same thing, and then rescinded the order right before he left office!
Let us hope Trump doesn’t pull a Clinton and renege on his commitment to good government policy. I am encouraged by The Donald’s commitment to reduce the clout of government lobbyists.
