Pearl Harbor revealed American greatness 4

By Tom Quiner

Seventy-five years ago today, Japan launched a pre-emptive attack against our country.

President Roosevelt responded with resolve:

“Yesterday, December 7th, 1941 — a date which will live in infamy — the United States of America was suddenly and deliberately attacked by naval and air forces of the Empire of Japan.”

He was clear to the American people that our exceptionalism would see us through:

“With confidence in our armed forces, with the unbounding determination of our people, we will gain the inevitable triumph — so help us God.

I ask that the Congress declare that since the unprovoked and dastardly attack by Japan on Sunday, December 7th, 1941, a state of war has existed between the United States and the Japanese empire.”

What happened next was amazing, as related to us by Fox News:

images-1During the 3-1/2 years of World War II that started with the Japanese bombing of Pearl Harbor in December 1941 and ended with the Surrender of Germany and Japan in 1945, the U.S. produced; 22 aircraft carriers, 8 battleships, 48 cruisers, 349 destroyers, 420 destroyer escorts, 203 submarines, 34 million tons of merchant ships, 100,000 fighter aircraft, 98,000 bombers, 24,000 transport aircraft, 58,000 training aircraft, 93,000 tanks, 257,000 artillery pieces, 105,000 mortars, 3,000,000 machine guns, and 2,500,000 military trucks.

We put 16.1 million men and women in uniform in the various armed services; invaded Africa, invaded Sicily and Italy, won the battle for the Atlantic, planned and executed D-Day, marched across the Pacific and Europe, developed the atomic bomb, and ultimately conquered Japan and Germany.

It’s worth noting, that during the almost exact amount of time, the Obama administration couldn’t design and build a functioning web site for the so-called Affordable Healthcare Act. And the product they built, Obamacare, did the exact opposite of what it was promised to do:

Reduce rates by $2500? Nope, they went up by the same amount … and more.

You can keep your doctor? Nope.

You can keep your current coverage? Nope.

We’ll bend the cost curve down? Nope, went up, way up.

Greatness is in the DNA of America. Eight years of liberal rule by the Obama Government has really drained our reserves of greatness.

Can Donald Trump carry through on his promise to make America great again? Let us pray the answer is a yes. Liberals will fight him every step of the way in their unspoken desire to make America ordinary.

What if America experienced a Pearl Harbor type of attack today? Could we respond? Our sensitive little snowflakes on the Left would cry first, and then quickly surrender.

American backbone is legendary. The question is: can it withstand liberalism?

  1. I’m glad he wasn’t POTUS during the Gulf War when I served. I don’t think that man could win a pie eating contest if it was his favorite everyone else’s most hated. He has been raised to despise all that my ancestors fought and/or died for in every armed conflict this nation has experienced since the mid 1600’s. He went to D.C. w/ every intent of weakening us as much as he could. He narrowly missed being followed by one that despises those ideals as much as he does. I don’t know what (if anything )Trump can do w/ what is left of those ideals, but I’m so glad he was given the chance. I can think of better for the job than Trump but not any worse than HRC or Obama. may we again return to the founding ideals of this country, and again receive the blessings that those ideals brought.

  2. First, God bless each and every soul who sacrificed so dearly. Second, thank God Obama was NOT at the helm back then or we would be living very different lives right now!!

Great comparison… Sure puts things into a better perspective doesn’t it? 😉
