A small man says adieu

By Tom Quiner

Barack Obama says goodbye tonight.

Good riddance. I shan’t listen.

Mr. Obama’s tenure as caretaker of the world’s greatest democracy has been a total bust. His failed presidency was built on disingenuous promises, a sneering disregard for the rule of law, and an unrelenting blame game when he didn’t get his way.

His smug contempt of conservative Christians who “clinged to their Bibles and guns” was on full display for eight solid years. Hope and change was a sham, no, make that a scam. Ultimately, Mr. Obama is a man without honor or integrity.

I will not miss him.

C’mon Tom – You are a little underrated — how do you REALLY feel about soon to be EX president Obama?

I’m going to miss him. 🙁 Now I’m going to have beat up on Republicans! I suspect Mr. Trump will provide plenty of fodder. But I’m hoping for the best. Thanks for writing.

Tom, he isn’t going to be missed…b/c he isn’t going anywhere. He’s using his kids as an excuse to hang out near Capital Hill. Unlike EVERY other POTUS (even Clinton and Carter who had younger kids than his at this time in their reigns) HE intends to stay and push his failed agenda. UGH! I’m listening to his “farewell” speech. He is acting like he’s on a victory tour. His minions are yelling like they are at a pep rally. He doesn’t actually believe he lost. He just touted The ACA and the Cuban thing as victories, and the screaming crowd believes him. He says the country is better and stronger for the poor now, yet all day, every day I see those same people in the streets screaming about how bad it all is for them. Mr. Trump may give lots of fodder, but I suspect Obama may continue to keep you quite busy enough. I still dont understand how a side loses as BIG as the dems did and STILL gets to call the shots, but it looks like they will to a large degree. It looks like a few GOP folks will side w/ the dems.

I think you’re right that he’s going to hang around making trouble. A man with an ego the size of his doesn’t quietly fade away.

I’ve got a lump in my throat.

NO they don’t. His talk sounds like a delusional man, who thinks he is the victor. If he were anything but a liberal POTUS, he would probably be on anti-psychotics. He said he would take it personally, if HRC wasn’t elected. Not only did he not take it personally, he didnt even notice it that she wasn’t. He encouraged illegal immigrants to vote and did so again now (very thinly veiled). He has been fawned over his whole life, even as a less-than-stellar high school student using drugs. His grand parents (Grandma was a wealthy bank president in Hi.) made sure to put him in contact w/ all the right people to accomplish their goals of destroying the American way. He has never been the top honors student anywhere he went. He just got a lot of credit for what he WASNT not what he should have been.

Our first affirmative action president, it seems. Thanks for writing.

To quote another, dont keep your feelings in. Tell us how you REALLY feel.

Perhaps I came on a little strong in my remarks. Nah! 😉

Ex-Presidents don’t go away, they just lie in wait.

    • quinersdiner on January 10, 2017 at 8:48 pm

George W. Bush left office with class and has avoided the lime light. Can’t say the same for a certain spouse of Hillary Rodham Clinton. I suspect Mr. Obama will remain very high profile.

January 20th is ” Take out the trash day!”
    Good riddance to bad rubbish?

I won’t miss him, or that harridan he’s married to, or his spoiled, obnoxious teenagers. I know they’ll never go away, but at least they won’t be infesting the White House any longer.

    • quinersdiner on January 12, 2017 at 12:45 pm

I won’t miss his smug superiority.

    He said “good-bye”? I wasn’t paying attention. 🙂
