I opened my church bulletin this morning and read this… Reply

Our Respect Life Group features quotes from famous people on the subject of Life.

Margaret Sanger, founder of Planned Parenthood

Margaret Sanger, founder of Planned Parenthood

Here is today’s quote:

“The purpose in promoting birth control was ‘to create a race of thoroughbreds.'”

MARGARET SANGER, founder of Planned Parenthood, as quoted in Birth Control Review.

Here’s the second quote:

“…human weeds, ‘reckless breeders,’ spawning…human beings who never should have been born.”

MARGARET SANGER, quoted from ‘Pivot of Civilization,’ referring to immigrants and poor people.

These quotes don’t sound very inclusive, tolerant, or welcoming of diversity, do they? And yet the Democratic Party will go to the mat to advance this belief system.

Today’s Gospel reading from Mattew 5:13-16 reveals why Sanger’s hateful quote must be seen:

Jesus said to his disciples:
“You are the salt of the earth.
But if salt loses its taste, with what can it be seasoned?
It is no longer good for anything
but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot.
You are the light of the world.
A city set on a mountain cannot be hidden.
Nor do they light a lamp and then put it under a bushel basket;
it is set on a lampstand,
where it gives light to all in the house.
Just so, your light must shine before others,
that they may see your good deeds
and glorify your heavenly Father.”

Our light must shine on others, just as we must shine a light on an ugly philosophy like Sanger’s which has gained such clout in this culture.

The culture of death cannot withstand the light of Christ if we but let our light “shine before others.”
