YES or NO: Planned Parenthood deserves more taxpayer money?

By Tom Quiner

Planned Parenthood deserves more taxpayer money for the sake of women’s reproductive health.

This is Planned Parenthood’s mantra, shrilly echoed by feminists and Democrats of every stripe who push back against Christians’ and Republicans’ insistence on defunding the abortion giant.

The suggestion is this by Democrats: if taxpayers pony up more money for PP, women will enjoy more cancer screening and prevention services; more breast exams; more pap smears while serving more women.

Is there anyway to test their thesis? Yes. Honest analysts need merely glean PP’s own data.

According to Planned Parenthood’s numbers, their revenue has increased by a third since Cecile Richards took the reigns of the baby-killing behemoth in 2006, and federal funding shot up by 64.7%.

Did their non human abortion services go up? Were more women served with actual healthcare services?

No, just the opposite:

√ The number of women served went DOWN, not up, by 22.5%.

√ Breast exams went down DOWN, not up, by 63.5%.

√ Total services provided went DOWN, not up, by 6%.

However …

√ Human abortion services went UP, not down, by 13%.

And …

√ PP’s total revenues went UP, not down, by 33% despite the spate of clinic closings that have defined Ms. Richard’s tenure as President.

In other words, when taxpayers give Planned Parenthood more of their hard-earned money, they get back fewer clinics, less authentic women’s reproductive healthcare, and more human abortion, while helping to fund Ms. Richard’s one million dollar salary.

Here in Iowa, the legislature pulled the plug on PP when a pro-life coalition produced a map which shows community health centers throughout the state outnumber PP clinics thirteen to one.

Nationally, community health centers outnumber Planned Parenthood twenty to one.

If taxpayers are compelled to support women’s health centers in some form, clearly, the fiscally prudent and ethically responsible path is to direct funds to community health centers who can serve women with more comprehensive services.

To continue to reward Planned Parenthood makes no sense.

That’s a definite no. No need to pay people to kill children and traumatize mothers.

Amen, brother. Even more, there are better clinics that don’t perform human abortion.

The ruthlessness and uncaring of the pro-abortion people is most certainly appalling. They would surely view it differently if they were the being getting ripped apart.
