You are largely correct. I remember buying Belgium chocolate in Belgium, and it was a wonderful experience. We have a local confectioner who makes exceptional chocolate because he imports the main ingredients from Europe. It spoils me, because it is so much better than what I get over the counter. I almost never buy a Nestles candy bar anymore, which might explain why the Swiss-based company wants to sell off their American candy unit! 😉 Thanks for writing!
Well, I have to admit that I haven’t been doing my part. As much as I love chocolate, I have to be very careful with it, because it gives me terrible insomnia. So if I’m going to eat chocolate, I have to have it for breakfast.
OK guys! I cant do this all on my own. If the usual bar doesn’t do it for you, there are these 65%+ cacao bars w/ various things added (salted caramel, raspberries, candied ginger) in the health food section of Kroger…very affordable and EXCELLENT! It really makes dark chocolate something special. Now get to it! we’re behind!
Interestingly enough, government programs aren’t the key to this one either. Switzerland is staunchly capitalistic. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
!
Lol
That’s because American chocolate is so bad. 😉 You need to import more. (Only half kidding, sorry.)

Sorry I had to make my debut on your blog with a dig but I couldn’t resist. 🙂 I’m glad you took it so well.
I took it in the spirit in which you delivered it, which was good ol’ trans atlantic mischievousness!

That, my friend, is a serious cross to bear!
On the plus side, it means that I no longer feel guilty when I have chocolate for breakfast.
