    Ah, but the flesh pleases NOW and NOT later. Folks have no patience for delayed gratification.

      True. It’s tough while we live in the flesh. And yet the Spirit refreshes and nurtures.

        I think it must be easier for the older folks to look to the divine as the flesh has less appeal and draw. I always say that the catastrophic effects T.B. had on me in my mid 20’s was a great blessing. I have noticed how drawn I am to God when things are trying for me. By the time I was getting better’ i was safely in my adult years w/ a spiritual man. A lot of the problems one can find in one’s youth just passed me by while I sought the comfort of God to deal w/ all the hospitalizations and procedures. When the flesh is not cooperative, it is easier to seek God.

    I would amend this slightly. Christ came so that we could have a relationship with God.
