Today is the day that the Catholic Church celebrates Mary, Mother of God, as the Queen of Heaven.

I recently wrote and produced a musical, THE FIRE AND THE MERCY, The Pentecost Musical.

There’s a scene where Jesus refers to Mary, His Mother, as the future ‘Queen of Heaven.’ That is Catholic belief, but not of many Protestants.

In the audio clip above from Catholic Answers Live, Catholic apologist, Tim Staples, provides the scriptural basis for this Catholic belief. Mr. Staples is the author of , “Behold Your Mother, a Biblical and Historical Defense of the Marian Doctrines.”

As a former Protestant who once disagreed with certain tenets of Catholicism, I have discovered that much disagreement is based on misinformation.

Tim Staple’s explanation above demonstrates that the Queen of Heaven designation wasn’t just snatched out of thin air, but in fact has solid biblical underpinnings.
