“Why should Christians be able to impose their views on women?”

By Tom Quiner

Planned Parenthood’s CEO, Cecile Richards, posed the question in the headline above.

Her suggestion is rich in light of the Left’s insistence on imposing their religion on the rest of us, whether it be so-called same-sex marriage, transgenderism, or any one of a multitude of politically-correct tenets of their faith.

Her question reveals Planned Parenthood’s defensiveness as pro life legislation slowly but surely works its way through the Republican legislatures that dominate statehouses around the country. Here in Iowa, we just banned human abortion after 20 weeks, and four more Planned Parenthood clinics closed in the past year.

The obvious response to Ms. Richards is, “why should neo pagans be able to impose THEIR religion on the infant (Hillary Clinton’s word) in the womb?

Practicing Christians embrace the Ten Commandments that state, “Thou shalt not kill.”

Do neo pagans also embrace this tenet of Christianity? It is a serious question. If they don’t, then they’re free to kill their political enemies just as Mao and Stalin did.

If they don’t, they are liberated to kill the “deplorables” as defined by Hillary Clinton. I’m guessing most would mutter that they agree with the Muslims, Jews, and Christians who embrace this key Commandment which God handed down to Moses.

So, if neo pagans join us Christians in opposing taking the life of innocent human beings, it is totally consistent to oppose the taking of the life of the infant in the womb, which textbooks tell us begins at conception, textbooks like these:

√ O’Rahilly R and Müller F, Human Embryology and Teratology (new York: Wiley-Liss, 1994).

√ William J. Larsen, Human Embryology (New York: Churchill Livingstone, 1997).

√ Carlson B, Human Embryology and Developmental Biology (St. Louis, MO: Mosby, 1994.)

These textbooks tell us that “human life begins when the sperm and ovum, neither of which can sustain life or direct growth by itself, come together at fertilization. For the first time the new life has all 46 chromosomes and all the directions (DNA) it needs for the rest of life. The sex of the baby, the color of the hair, everything is already fixed.” [Quoted from Iowans for Life’s Women Reproductive Health Resource Book.]

In other words, we have a complete human being at the instant of conception. To end the life of this complete human being because she is inconvenient to another human being is a violation of the Commandment that has been embraced by the civilized world for more than three thousand years.

Is Cecile Richards really telling us that her religion believes murder is acceptable?

I checked out the link you sent because as a rule I am not a believer in the copious use of abortion services. I was quite shocked that they claim abortion is connected to breast cancer because I was quite sure from what I have read in this subject that this claim was proven as incorrect.

Why would you be shocked in light of the selective news coverage by the mainstream media? Most people would believe as you do for these reasons. The World Health Organization and the Mayo Clinic are hard to ignore.
