Political winner of the week

By Tom Quiner

President Trump is a big winner this week after his State of the Union address revealed how conservative governance is more compassionate than the radical agenda touted by the Democratic Party.

Democrats tout feelings as the prime metric for determining good policy. By their standard, Trump’s ‘Make America Great Again’ policy rollouts are the most empathetic in history. Higher African-American employment. Higher wages for African-Americans. Higher pay for low-skilled workers. Reductions in deaths related to opioid addictions as people finding dignity in employment turn away from drugs. Along those lines, people are falling off the food stamp rolls in droves as good jobs fall in their laps, something some Democrats hissed at during his address.

Apparently, Democrats think dependence on government is good and that the dignity of a good job is detestable.

Perhaps Trump compassion was most obvious as he called for an end to third trimester abortions, something Democrats insist should not only be legal, but paid for by taxpayers.

Democrats will pushback by saying that Trump is a jerk. This blog won’t argue with the assertion. But if you dispassionately review the record of his domestic agenda, you can’t help but marvel at America’s turnaround in three short years.

Democrats are clear. If they regain control of the levers of power, they will undo it all. They vow higher taxes on everyone, a geometric increase in government regulations and red tape, and taxpayer funded abortions for all, for all nine months of a pregnancy, and conscience protections be damned.

I can’t imagine a more heartless agenda than that.

I can’t imagine a more compassionate agenda than President Trump’s.

The radical Left agenda was on Technicolor display during the SOTU address… The only time the sour-faced Dems moved from their chairs was any time Pelosi selectively stood to reluctantly applaud. Even then, Pelosi seemed torn as to whether she should respond positively or not. It’s clear that hatred for the President has eclipsed any sense of focusing on the good of the American people. Anyone who can’t see that, well there is no hope for them.
