Democrats want to gut the Bill of Rights 4

By Tom Quiner

The Left has hijacked the Democratic Party. You see it in Democrats’ growing hostility towards the Bill of Rights.

THE FIRST AMENDMENT

Take the First Amendment, the most important. The Left has such revulsion for free speech they don’t like (aka conservative free speech) that they pretty much don’t allow it on college campuses. They shout down conservative speakers. They label them ‘haters.’ They create such a ruckus that expensive security is needed to protect the personal safety of conservative speakers, which pretty much prices them out of the market.

Hillary opposes some free speech

Speaking here in Iowa during the last election cycle, Hillary Clinton cried out for new anti free speech legislation:

“We need to fix our dysfunctional political system and get unaccountable money out of it once and for all, even if that takes a constitutional amendment.”

But limiting money that can be spent promoting your political view is the essence of free speech suppression, the Supreme Court has ruled. Thus the need for a constitutional amendment if Democrats are to have their way. A few years ago, 54 Democratic senators voted for such an amendment.

Dems want to criminalize client deniers

In California, Democrats pushed anti free speech legislation that criminalizes speech that opposes the “consensus” on climate change. And the previous Attorney General, Loretta Lynch, actually admitted that her Justice Department considered pursuing civil lawsuits against “climate change deniers.”

A YouGov poll found a majority of Democrats call for government controlled limits on what they consider “hate speech,” which to reiterate, is largely speech with which they disagree. Only 26% of Democrats opposed any limits on free speech.

Dems downgrade religious liberty

Religious liberty, such a bedrock of the American Dream, has long been dismissed by Democrats. They cheered when President Obama imposed the HHS mandate on Americans, forcing people of faith, such as the Little Sisters of the Poor, to violate their religious consciences, or be fined out of existence.

The Democratic Party of today embraces the same view on religion as the old Soviet Union: you are free to worship in your home, but keep it out of the public square. Just ask any florist or baker who gently decline to take on a same-sex wedding.

THE SECOND AMENDMENT

The most-loathed Amendment for Democrats these days has to be the Second Amendment. Democrats are playing a game with the American public. They say they merely want “common sense” gun regulations. But a Quinnipiac Poll shows that a third of all Democrats want the entire Amendment repealed. Eighty-two percent of Democrats call for an outright ban on semi-automatic firearms. As Democratic Congressman, Mike Doyle (PA), puts it:

“The Second Amendment needs some changing, because Americans don’t agree with it and we’ve had it.”

His fellow comrade in the House, Keith Ellison (MN), echoes his sentiments:

“I sure wish they would.”

To clarify, a third of all Democrats support it, NOT all Americans. I hope Democrats have the honesty to promote such a radical proposal, because it is the political kiss of death.

Democrats loathe a couple of other Amendments that comprise the Bill of Rights, but these aren’t trotted out as aggressively as the ones already mentioned.

THE FIFTH AMENDMENT

Take the Fifth Amendment. Do you remember what Nancy Pelosi and House Democrats did a little less than two years ago? They conducted a “sit-in” in House Chambers demanding that anyone on the “no fly list” be denied the right to buy a gun, a blatant denial of due process. Even the ultra liberal ACLU said that was going to far.

It’s not easy to tack left of the ACLU, but that’s how far afield the Democratic Party has gotten from the party they used to be. Due process has become a political weapon.

THE TENTH AMENDMENT

We can’t conclude the conversation without referring to the most loathsome of all Amendments when it comes to modern day Obamacrats: the Tenth. This beautiful Amendment was supposed to limit the power of the federal government to those rights delegated to it by the states.

Franklin Roosevelt walked all over the Amendment, and Barack Obama finished the job by stomping on it.

Our bloated federal government is not the vision the Founders had for this country. The evisceration of the First, Second, and Fifth Amendments is also not the vision the Founders had for our country. If the modern Democratic Party has their way, they will soon be toast.

Hillary blames her loss on white men brow-beating their white women into voting for Trump 2

By Tom Quiner

“We gotta do something about these deplorable white men”

The Hillary blame game continues:

“We do not do well with white men and we don’t do well with married, white women. And part of that is an identification with the Republican Party, and a sort of ongoing pressure to vote the way that your husband, your boss, your son, whoever, believes you should.

I won the places that represent two-thirds of America’s gross domestic product. So I won the places that are optimistic, diverse, dynamic, moving forward. And his whole campaign, ‘Make America Great Again,’ was looking backwards.”

To summarize the Clinton world view:

White men: DEPLORABLE

White women: GOOD*

Black men: GOOD*

Black women: GOOD*

Hispanic men: GOOD*

Hispanic women: GOOD*

Asian men: GOOD*

Asian women: GOOD*

Native American men: GOOD*

Native American women: GOOD*

Anyone gay: GOOD*

Anyone transgendered: GOOD*

* Except when influenced by DEPLORABLE white men.

‘Russian collusion’ paradox 2

By Tom Quiner

Does anything strike you as odd about Democrats’ assertion that President Trump colluded with the Russians? For whatever reason?

Set aside that Hillary’s campaign paid Christoper Steele to dig up dirt from the Russians on Donald Trump.

Set aside that the Steele dossier has been discredited.

Set aside that the Steele dossier appears to be the reason that the FISA court approved wiretaps on Trump operatives.

Set aside that the Comey FBI withheld from the FISA court that it was Hillary’s campaign that had paid for this [fake] dirt on Trump.

Set aside that Christopher Steele blabbed its contents to the press to smear Trump in violation of FBI confidentiality protocols.

Set aside that, if anything, it is Hillary Clinton, the Democratic Party, the Justice Department, and the FBI that is more likely to have colluded with Russian than Donald Trump, and this blog doesn’t even believe that. But if you go by appearances alone, that’s how it looks.

Here is what we can’t set aside: Donald Trump was a direct threat to Vladimir Putin. Hillary wasn’t.

Hillary Clinton hit a reset button with Putin and President Obama allowed Putin to cross one red line after another.

Putin had their number. He knew that Hillary Clinton was an inelegant continuation of Barack Obama, who was a patsy.

Donald Trump, in contrast to Hillary Clinton, loved fracking, and he echoed Sarah Palin in his cry to “drill, baby drill!”

In other words, Trump knew that energy independence is power, and oil was the ticket. Clinton/Obama were willing to cede that power to the Russian tyrant by opposing fracking and drilling in the U.S. and doing everything in their power to reduce it, regulate it, tax it, and disparage it.

And yet it is the fracking boom which has contributed to a remarkable plunge in oil prices in recent years, which has cost Putin and Russia a whole bunch of rubles.

The higher the price of oil, the more power ceded to Putin by the West.

The lower the price of oil, the more power returned to American shores.

Does anyone actually think Trump and Putin colluded to weaken Russia’s power?
