BREAKING NEWS: Praise the Democrats!

Anthony Weiner is going to resign, according to the Wall Street Journal.

This would never have happened if Democratic Party leadership hadn’t exerted some pretty strong pressure as reported in various news outlets the last few days. Who knows how much behind-the-scenes arm-twisting has taken place.

The party wasn’t able or willing to oust former Congressman Gary Studds when it was revealed he was engaged in a sexual relationship with a seventeen year-old boy. Let us hope today’s resignation signals the beginning of a new era of accountability in our elected officials.

This blog is frequently critical of the Democratic Party. Today, it extends its appreciation for their apparent effort in forcing out a Congressman who disgraced his office.
