Chris Christie labels pro lifers as “divisive”

By Tom Quiner

I like Chris Christie, but I don’t like his take on the pro life movement.

Here is what the New York Times reported on the governor’s remarks in New Hampshire on the subject:

“[Gov. Christie], who has in large party staked the future of his campaign on New Hampshire, also stressed the importance of bipartisanship in government. The state has a sizable bloc of moderate Republicans, as well as a large and unpredictable group of independent voters who are allowed to vote in Republican primaries.

Defending his opposition to funding Planned Parenthood, Mr. Christie criticized some Republicans for having been ‘extraordinarily divisive’ on the issue of abortion. Should he be elected president, Mr. Christie said, he would reach out to Democrats in Congress to try and get big things done.”

Bad form, Mr. Christie, in calling advocates for human dignity “divisive.”

In my humble opinion, Chris Christy, Carly Fiorina, Gov. Kasich and Ben Carson should drop out and endorse either Marco or Ted, so we can hold our own against Trump.

It probably won’t happen until New Hampshire, at which time there will probably be a mass exodus. I’m with you!

They said that about Wilberforce too.

      Good comparison.

Christie kinda seems like a RINO to me. There’s just something about him that I don’t trust. Actually, I feel that way about most politicians.

Well, your second sentence is very understandable. All politicians are flawed; many are well-intentioned, and I give Governor Christie credit for that. Some don’t seem well-intentioned with Ms. Clinton being the most conspicuous example. Although I won’t caucus for Mr. Christie, if he were the nominee, I could easily vote for him. However, I was very bothered by his pro life quote. Thanks for writing.
