Trump’s answers reveal his vacuousness

By Tom Quiner

Donald Trump was asked a legitimate question on the Sean Hannity Show:

“What are your plans to make college more affordable?”

Read his answer below carefully.

“We gotta do something with the cost of colleges. Now, what’s happening is you’re a conduit for government to give money to you to give to the college. And the colleges, their costs are going up by a factor that’s faster than anything else, practically, is going up. People are making phenomenal salaries at the top.

“You know, our professors, our teachers, we have to take care of them. It’s very important, I mean, to me it’s so important. But, you look at how the costs have escalated for colleges, and all they’re doing is, the students, essentially, are giving them the money, and yet, you’re borrowing too much money. I’m gonna look into that very strongly and we have to do something to help the students.

Sean, I get this question more than any other question I get. These students are absolutely, they have it up to their neck, they’re not able to function. And then, in many cases, on top of everything else, they can’t get a job. We’re gonna do something.”

To recap his answer: “we’re gonna do something.” Got that?

Translation: he doesn’t have a clue.

For an intelligent answer, revisit an earlier post, “Why higher education has sunk so low.”

Ugh, the way Trump structures his sentences… I can feel my brain cells dying.

Structures his sentences?!?.. More like verbal flatulence.

Heh, yup. I was just thinking about the difference between Bernie Sanders and Donald Trump. Donald runs on hot air, but Bernie runs on nitrous oxide. ?

This is his answer to EVERYTHING. “We’re gonna do sumthin about that.” WHAT? WHAT are you going to do? Be specific! So, so frustrating.

I’d be happy if he was even “general” and not specific. But “we’ve gotta do something about that” is not even being general. Vacuous is the best word I can come up.

Also, it seems like all his answers turn to his favorite talking points, like immigration. But the most infuriating part is that no matter what zombie unicorns fly from his mouth, everyone applauds.

He could say anything and get away with it.

Tom – We’ve already seen he can say anything and get away with it. He said in one speech that he could “go down to 5th avenue and shoot somebody and not even lose a vote”. What happened to the party of Reagan?

I have a response, but I’d like to develop it for a blogpost.
