I’m no Catholic or tremendous fan of most popes, but I really admired and( in a familial sort of way) adored this particular pope. I really loved his outspoken opposition to The Kremlin. What a heroic figure! His mom was apparently fearless as well. I read his story describing his mom going around telling all who would listen that he would one day be Pope.

He was amazing.
Like Reagan and Thatcher, we are much the worse off as a civilization for his passing. What a great team of minds and spirits.
