We cannot completely ignore or run from gods and religions, there are approximately 10,000 different religions, each one is convinced that there’s only one truth and that they alone possess it.

Neuroscience has the answers. A belief in any god has evolved with humans and is deeply embedded in the human brain, which is programmed for religious experiences. These findings are according to a study that analysed why religions are a universal human characteristic that has been a feature of all cultures throughout history.

And who is this Person who programmed our brains?

What evidence suggests any person\god programmed our brains? The programming to believe in a higher power came by the evolutionary process just as all our emotions have developed.

The evidence is our insatiable longing for God. I don’t have your faith that those longings coincidentally occur in every human being ever born. I have a lot a faith, but certainly not as much as an atheist like you that believes existence came into being out of non-existence, that human consciousness and the ability to reason and love just kind of happened … out of nothing. On the other hand, my particular belief system, Roman Catholicism, believes that faith and reason both lead us to God. The evidence is indeed compelling. As always, thanks for writing.

I think everything must have come from something and if God is claimed as the answer he must also have come from something. Science is making some remarkable discoveries about our planet and finding many of the answers. Humans, just as all life on earth have the basic desire to survive rather than die, they realised that not killing each other would sustain the species and human brains evolved from the world of violence and primitive mating habits into the non-violent loving humans we are today😊. However, from the news these days, I might add that some brains appear to have fallen behind in the evolutionary process.
