What a classless e-mail

I received the following e-mail from Congresswoman, Debbie Wasserman Schultz, chair of the Democratic National Committee:

SUBJECT: This pisses me off, Tom

Tom —

I’ve always loved the back-to-school season. I love feeling the air get crisper (at least what qualifies for crisp in Florida). And even more, I love getting back to work with my colleagues at the Capitol.

But Republicans in Congress are dead-set on rolling back the progress that Democrats like you and I have worked so hard to achieve. They’ve already said that they’re going to try to repeal Obamacare, after more than 50 unsuccessful attempts (and two Supreme Court rulings in the law’s favor). They want to completely defund Planned Parenthood, an organization that provides necessary health services to women across the country. And if they don’t get their way, they’re just fine with shutting down the government — again!

I’m going to be frank: That pisses me off. As a woman, a mother, and a cancer survivor, I say that we can’t stand for this kind of irresponsible behavior — and it’s exactly what we’ll see more of if Republicans retain their majority in 2016. The American people deserve better.

My response:

No, I shan’t.

Public policy advanced by the Democratic Party has been poison to America morally, economically, and spiritually. The classlessness of your e-mail’s subject line fits my overall perception of your party elites. My meager $3 would be leveraged by your party to abort more black babies and advance public policy contrary to my Catholic faith.

Instead, I will make a contribution to a candidate, most-likely Republican, who will advance public policy that is truly constructive and Constitutionally sound. Fortunately, Republicans are fielding a strong crop of forward-looking candidates who have the potential to reverse the malaise of the past 7 years.
