Hillary should step down
By Tom Quiner
Hillary Clinton’s presidency is shot.
It doesn’t matter whether she wins or loses on election day, her presidency is over. Odds are that she will garner enough electoral votes to win on November 8th. But if and when she is sworn in, she won’t be able to govern.
The specter of emailgate will poison every initiative, every decision, every utterance until the inevitable Constitutional showdown. Three decades of corruption will inevitably come to a head.
The FBI has ensured that the chaos that always swirls around the Clintons will continue.
They have reopened their investigation into Hillary’s missing emails in light of discovering a new treasure trove of them on Anthony Weiner’s laptop.
In addition, Wikileaks promises another dump before the election of the emails which belong to the American people, but which Hillary attempted to destroy to hide her pay-to-play activities.
What else will they reveal?
As of this writing, Clinton has a 4.6% advantage over Donald Trump in the Real Clear Politics average. In light of recent developments, that gap will likely narrow. Should she win the popular vote in ten days, it will probably be fairly close.
Now think about this: Richard Nixon won the 1972 election by 20 million votes.
He won 61% of the popular vote, 49 states, and 520 electoral votes.
By comparison, Ronald Reagan won but 51% of the vote in his 1980 election; along with 44 states and 489 electoral votes.
I point this out to emphasize that Nixon’s popularity, which exceeded Reagan’s by electoral metrics, didn’t save him from disgrace and resignation.
What sunk him? Eighteen and a half minutes of deleted tape.
A mere thousand seconds of expunged communication redefined the man as a crook. The wheels of justice continued to grind toward their inevitable conclusion, leading to his resignation within two years of the largest landslide victory since World War II.
Think about what FBI director, James Comey, has done: he’s dropped a bombshell. This is not a bombshell dropping sort of guy. The only reason he has stuck his neck out like this is because there must be more than just smoke in those emails, there must be fire.
With tens of thousands of deleted emails, she has made Nixon’s 18 and a half minutes of deleted tape seem like a kindergarten prank.
For the sake of the nation, Democrats should insist that Clinton step down and save us from another national nightmare.
The drama won’t end on election day. It will be just beginning.
Just a few days until the election. There’s bound to be more drama in the coming days on both sides.
My comment: Pardon Hillary.

Pardoned for what? Destroying emails? For selling influence? For racketeering? I think there’s too much potential criminality packed into this Clintonian cesspool to give them a free pass. I appreciate your perspective, but I’m not quite so forgiving. Thanks for writing.
[…] wait. Hear me out. Let’s let these words from Tom Quiner set the […]
Dave Alexander:
Yes, if she is elected, and the investigations continue, it will be a nightmare for this country. But to pardon her would be such a mistake. It would say that if you are wealthy enough, if you are powerful enough, you can break the law. That is bad for our country. In addition, they (the Clintons) have gotten away with so much for so long, it.. will… not… stop. The lying, the stealing, the pay for play, will not stop. Also, when you look at the shear numbers, it is hard to discount as conspiracy theory all the people who have crossed them who have died mysteriously or gone to prison. We can’t continue to turn a blind eye.
Tom, you say that since Hillary did so much more to break the law than Nixon, it is inevitable that she her presidency will end in disgrace as Nixon’s did. I don’t think it is inevitable. Sadly. Standards are different if you are a Republican than if you are a Democrat. For one thing, Democrats in Congress will never turn on her. The media is unlikely to turn on her, no matter what she does.
Yes there is sure to be a livestock critter come forth and tell the woeful story of Trump molestin her and someone will insist Comey open an investigation…and he will, b/c he likes to be in the center of of a TV cammera. HRC CAN’T step down. Her weekend machine is the only thing keeping her whole family and probably dozens of others out of prison or from being “taken care of”.
