“I hate Mother’s Day”

Liberalism “evolves.” And evolves. And evolves.

What next?

Here’s what’s next: At the same time that liberalism is “evolving” in their slavish embrace of gay marriage, they have now turned against motherhood with a vengeance.

Hollywood liberals have launched an “anti-Mother’s Day” campaign.

LifeSiteNews.com reports this newest “evolution” of the liberal mind:

“This Sunday, children of all ages will celebrate the role mothers play in their lives. But Vogue model Christy Turlington Burns and a host of female celebrities are encouraging mothers across the nation to ignore their children as part of “No Mother’s Day,” a sign of their support for reducing maternal mortality by supporting family planning and global access to abortion.

The campaign asks women to “disappear” on Mother’s Day to raise awareness of maternal mortality rates and underscore “just how much a mother is missed when she’s gone.” But amidst positive initiatives such as improved health care for complications such as hemorrhage and sepsis, the campaign prominently promotes “safe” abortion, and the legalization of abortion in nations where the practice is currently illegal, as a means of lowering maternal deaths.”

Don’t you find all this evolving exhausting?

The militants cut no slack to Moms in their press release that notes that their public service announcement …

“features moms encouraging other moms to join in solidarity by disappearing on May 13th, Mother’s Day. No phone calls. No emails. No social media. No gifts.”

I can see it: the kids come into the bedroom with coffee and a lovely breakfast in bed for the Mom. Their excitement at this expression of love, their childlike joy at giving back is angrily rebuffed by the “evolved” Mom who picks up the tray, throws it against the wall, and says, “beat it brats.”

Sigh.

This campaign is all about expanding abortion worldwide and decreasing motherhood.

I have no further words. The actions of these angry women will certainly be embraced by other “evolving” liberal women and men. By next year, I’m sure the president, should Mr. Obama be re-elected, will be holding a press conference to let the world know that they are no longer celebrating this day as a show of solidarity with other evolving women around the world.

In the meantime, I am going to lavish love on the love of my life, the woman who brought my beautiful three children into the world.

I am going to Mass with my daughter-in-law who carries my first grandchild (who will enter this world within a week, maybe days, maybe hours) and thank God for his gift of life.

I will dote on my 88 year old mother-in-law who lives with me for bringing my wife into this world.

And in particular, I ask the Blessed Mother to pray for mothers everywhere, especially for the “evolving” ones.

They desperately need prayer.
