Top Ten Reasons To Dislike Mitt Romney

Why do liberals and the MSM claim Mitt Romney is unlikeable?

Why Mitt Romney is Unlikable:

A lot is being said in the media about Mitt Romney not being “likable” or that he doesn’t “relate well” to people. Frankly, we struggled to understand why. So after much research, we have come up with a Top Ten List to explain this “unlikability.”

1. Drop-dead, collar-ad handsome with gracious, statesmanlike aura. Looks like every central casting’s #1 choice for Commander-in-Chief.

2. Been married to ONE woman his entire life, and has been faithful to her, including through her bouts with breast cancer and MS.

3. No scandals or skeletons in his closet. (How boring is that?)

4. Can’t speak in a fake, southern, “black preacher voice” when necessary.

5. Highly intelligent. Graduated cum laude from both Harvard Law School and Harvard Business School …and by the way, his academic records are NOT sealed.

6. Doesn’t smoke or drink alcohol, and has never done drugs, not even in the counter-culture age when he went to college. Too square for today’s America ?

7. Represents an America of “yesterday”, where people believed in God, went to Church, didn’t screw around, worked hard, and became a SUCCESS!

8. Has a family of five great sons, and none of them have police records or are in drug rehab. But of course, they were raised by a stay-at-home mom, and that “choice” deserves America ‘s scorn.

9. Oh yes, he’s a MORMON. We need to be very afraid of that very strange religion that teaches its members to be clean-living, patriotic, fiscally conservative, charitable, self-reliant, and honest.

10. And one more point: pundits say because of his wealth, he can’t relate to ordinary Americans. I guess that’s because he made that money HIMSELF…..as opposed to marrying it or inheriting it from Dad. Apparently, he didn’t understand that actually working at a job and earning your own money made you un-relatable to Americans.

My goodness, it’s a strange world, isn’t it?

[This list was sent to me via e-mail. I don’t know to whom to give credit for writing it. Makes you think, doesn’t it?]

Ten Reasons??? It doesn’t take that many!
It is impossible to believe Romney… on almost anything. Besides his flip-flopping on so many issues, we also have to include….
Fact 1) Saved the US Winter Olympics by getting a HUGE infusion of cash (ie… bailout) from…. the USA taxpayers! (About $400 million of the $2 billion total… about 20%)
Fact 2) While gov of Mass, his policies led to a job creation rate of 45th or so… the BOTTOM 10%. (And that was when times were good!)
Fact 3) While with Bain he bought companies, broke them up, and sold off the parts as his process of “returning them to profitability” … and then “outsourcing” and “off-shoring”… costing people their jobs.
Fact 3A) I have to believe that if you SIGN that you are the CEO, sole stockholder, etc etc… you really ARE.Those were VERY official papers he signed that carry a felony penalty of misrepresentation. Try “misrepresenting” your assets when you get a loan at a bank… try signing a simple check with no money in the account…. you are STILL liable. Signatures mean a LOT.

WHAT am I to believe? Several SIGNED SEC government statements… or verbal statements from friends saying he wasn't involved in Bain.

    4) You want to elect president a guy that keeps MILLIONS of his fortune in off-shore and Swiss accounts as a tax “avoidance” scheme? My guess is he took advantage of the IRS Amnesty program for off shore accounts. The reason he is so stridently opposed to releasing his tax returns is EVERYONE will see he was trying to hide a bunch of money.

You want me to think he puts AMERICA FIRST? I really hope you are kidding!

Tell you what, I suspect if ALL the people in Des Moines who have money in Swiss Bank accounts got together, they couldn't even fill up a limo (OK, maybe a small bus).
And the honest ones that aren't trying to evade taxes… I doubt they could fill up a taxi. (The only thing that makes a Swiss account a "sound financial investment" is their ability to enable their holders to avoid/evade taxes.)

Romney isn't just a 1%'er… he's a member of the elite 1/10 of the 1%. And given his past, if elected he will balance the budget on the backs of the poor and disadvantaged… and put more money into his Swiss accounts!

Regarding Romney: those are interesting notes about him, but certainly there’s nothing in that list to give us a reason to actually vote for him.

If you want to talk about Romney, then here are a few reasons to not vote for him based on what he stands for. As President, he would probably be an unmitigated disaster, for any of the following reasons:

    1. He wants people to vote against their own self interests. He’ll push to increase taxes on the poor and lower taxes on the rich.
    2. He wants to disenfranchise legitimate voters such as students and minorities, taking us back to the dark days before the Voting Rights Act.
    3. He wants to increase spending on defense, promoting the military industrial complex, and promoting more wars at the expense of our youth who fight and die in those wars.
    4. He would likely continue the Bush administration’s attacks on civil rights. Remember when, in the name of a Global War on Terror, the Bush Administration suspended habeas corpus, introduced extraordinary rendition, torture, and started to discuss domestic spying? Romney will continue that effort. It will truly be a “brave new world.”
    5. He would do nothing to lower the national debt, allowing it to balloon out of control, which in the end will be far worse than tax hikes to reduce the debt. If anything he might actually increase government spending (i.e. on defense.)
    6. He would promote ongoing corporate tax breaks, which will also add to the deficit, getting us closer to the brink, like Greece.
    7. He would overturn Obamacare, slashing health care services while enriching insurance executives.
    8. He would continue the “war on women.”
    9. He won’t fight for minorities, the disenfranchised, the poor, the elderly, immigrants, or those in need. All of these are elements that work together to make or break a strong middle class. And it’s a strong middle class that makes a country strong.
    10. He will, in the end, take this country down the wrong path entirely. No doubt about it.

Your response is a delusional rant, devoid of substance. While there may be things I don’t agree with Mr. Romney on, nothing you said makes the least amount of sense. Thanks for writing.
