Mitt the monster

By Tom Quiner

Team Obama paints Mitt Romney as a monster.

Subtlety has no place in Mr. Obama’s campaign. One of his surrogates suggested in an ad that Mitt Romney bears personal responsibility for killing a woman with cancer.

Of course, there is zero truth in it.

The Republican convention revealed a wonderful side of Mitt Romney, that he is kind and generous. Even more, he built bridges between different groups and managed people with dignity and integrity.

One speaker that stood out to me was Jane Edmonds. She is a liberal Democrat. Nonetheless, Governor Romney included her in his administration. She came to the Republican Convention, not tell us that she agrees with our politics, but rather she respects and honors Mitt Romney:

“I didn’t come here to talk about our differences — I’m not going down that path. I’m here to talk about my experiences working for him. My friends have asked me why. I adore the guy. I have seen him behind closed doors in Cabinet meetings. I have seen his compassion. I’m at a point in my life that the character of the human being we entrust to be president is important to me. He would make an excellent president.”

Character counts. Mitt Romney, by all accounts, is a man of immense character.
