The unspeakable tragedy of November 29th

Baby Britney

Baby Britney

I don’t know this person.

I don’t even know if this person was male or female.

I have only seen his/her photograph, which I posted above.

He/she doesn’t have a name, and probably will never have a name, unless someone names him/her.

I will name her Britney.

Baby Britney died last Thursday at the hands of an abortionist.

The photo was taken of Britney’s mother’s womb when Britney was but 14 weeks, 5 days old.

Britney was fully human, fully alive.

She was like you and me. She had dreams. The only difference was her dreams were in the formative stages in the arc of her humanity. She was not even conscious of them yet. But human potential is all about dreams.

Britney had dreams.

Her mother was seduced by an evil ideology that tells women that their babies are disposable and not worth fighting for.

These mothers, so many of whom are ridiculously young, are told that if a baby is unplanned, inconvenient, or unwanted, then she is not worth keeping … or fighting for.

Keep in mind, millions of anxious couples wait in line praying for an opportunity to give the Britneys of the world an adoptive home.

Britney could have had a home. She could have experienced the lavish love adopted children enjoy each day.

But Britney’s mom bought into the lie that Britney’s life wasn’t worth fighting for.

I will be called insensitive for saying this. After all, I don’t know anything about Britney’s mom. I bet her mom WAS in a tough spot. My heart bleeds for her.

But my heart bleeds even more for Britney.

Because she was killed by an abortionist last Thursday.

Britney will never have an opportunity to experience the messiness of life. Or the sheer, extravagant  beauty of life that so overwhelms us when we least expect it.

Look at the photo again. That little girl was made in the likeness of God.

God!

The Britney’s of the world are worth fighting for.

Let us pray for our sister, Britney, who was taken from us last Thursday:

Heavenly Father,
Thou hast given us the gift of freedom
to love and to follow in Thy ways and commands.
Some parents choose to abuse this freedom
by destroying the gift of life
which Thou hast given to their offspring.
Please forgive those who destroy human life
by aborting their unborn babies.
Give these unborn children the opportunity
to enjoy Thee for all eternity,
if it according to Thy ordinance.
Assist me in being one in solidarity with Thy little ones
by taking to heart the words of Thy Son,
“whatever you did for one of these least brothers of Mine,
you did for Me.” (Mt. 25:40)
Therefore, allow me today, Father,
to adopt spiritually an unborn child
and to offer my prayers, works,
joys and sufferings for that little one,
so that child will be able to be born and live
for Thy greater honor and glory.
We pray this in Jesus’ name,
in union with the Holy Spirit one God forever and ever.

How is it that Iowa is the only state to allow telemedicine for abortions?

Because the Iowa Board of Medicine approved it.
