“Charlie Hebdo had it coming”

Leaders in the Islamic community are begging liberals to understand they mean business.

Despite killing after killing in the name of Allah, politically-correct Hollywood types like Ben Affleck won’t let you say anything against Islam, characterizing any such comments as “gross and racist,” (while using Christ’s name in vain in the process).

He rationalizes Islamic violence using statistics: “Only 7 percent of Muslims are radicalized.” A quick extrapolation reveals, using Affleck’s numbers, that a staggering  100 million Muslims are “radicalized” murderous thugs.

That’s more people than voted for Barack Obama.

That’s about a third of the U.S.

That’s a lot people wandering this planet looking to kill you if you look cross-eyed at them.

Anjem Choudary is a radical Muslim cleric living in London. The U.S. Today ran his commentary on the Charlie Hebdo mass murder. He said that Islam does NOT mean peace, and you are a fool if you think otherwise:

“Contrary to popular misconception, Islam does not mean peace but rather means submission to the commands of Allah alone. Therefore, Muslims do not believe in the concept of freedom of expression, as their speech and actions are determined by divine revelation and not based on people’s desires.”

I hope Barack Obama, Howard Dean, and Ben Affleck are paying attention.

He said be prepared for violence if you blaspheme our prophet:

“Although Muslims may not agree about the idea of freedom of expression, even non-Muslims who espouse it say it comes with responsibilities. In an increasingly unstable and insecure world, the potential consequences of insulting the Messenger Muhammad are known to Muslims and non-Muslims alike.”

Yes, consequences are “known.”

The good cleric is begging liberals to understand that, yes, this IS what Islam is all about:

“However, because the honor of the Prophet is something which all Muslims want to defend, many will take the law into their own hands, as we often see. Within liberal democracies, freedom of expression has curtailments, such as laws against incitement and hatred.”

Translation: free speech does not apply to any sort of criticism toward Islam. One hundred million Muslims stand ready to die at your expense if you don’t believe them.

The nobility of a man is measured by how much truth he can tolerate. If our tolerance is the measure of our values and ideals, then we are truly a noble society of the highest order. In times of mortal danger, however, this nobility may come at too high a price for our society to pay. As items are jettisoned from a listing ship to lighten its weight and right itself, we must consider whether some of our highest ideals are in fact an Achilles Heel being exploited by our enemies.

I acknowledge the response that such consideration renders a victory of sorts on the part of terrorism – that altering a cherished ideal in response to terrorism equates a “win” for those seeking our destruction. One must step back and view the matter from somewhat of a distance to better understand the dichotomy between the application of our values as it involves the nihilism of terror.

A much maligned U.S. senator by the name of Barry Goldwater once said that “…extremism in the defense of liberty is no vice […] moderation in the pursuit of justice is no virtue” These words resonate when faced with the withering criticism of the nattering class who attempt to hijack the English language and classify speech they disagree with as being the product of “hate”. Indeed, these voices are on par with those who seek impose their injurious vision upon us inasmuch as they they cannot be made to see that which is otherwise plain and obvious.
