Mainstream media digs into Scott Walker’s past
By Tom Quiner
My friend, John, made an interesting observation on his Facebook page:
“The Washington Post did an expose on Scott Walker not graduating college – he didn’t finish his senior year. Meanwhile, in the 8+ years Obama’s been in the public eye – there’s not been a single question about his college record. Walker’s records are not sealed, Obama’s are, and the Post has the audacity to question Walker’s decision not to finish? How about Obama?”
Do you detect a little liberal bias with the mainstream media?
Nahh, it must be my imagination.
Thanks for your insights, John.
The idea that any college records are sealed is completely false. ‘Sealed’ when used on a document of this sort means it was an item that is usually open to the public, but a judge has ruled cannot be released without the court’s permission. College records are actually illegal to distribute by a university without the written consent from the student or former student, under the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974. It is also not unusual for a President to keep these records confidential, for example, President Bush never submitted written consent to have his records released. When information came out on his grades, it was leaked.
Thanks for the clarification.
Maybe we should ask his fellow classmates who don’t remember him.
It seems to be a rather mysterious college history, doesn’t it?
Scott Walker has never made any secret of the fact that he does not hold a bachelor’s degree, so calling it an “exposé” is a little misleading — as if someone had uncovered a deep dark secret. Anyway, it would do Walker no good with the liberal establishment if he did have a degree; recall that George W. Bush held not one, but two university degrees — both of them from Ivy League schools — and yet the liberal establishment labeled him an idiot.
You are spot on as usual, my Bluebird of Bitterness! Always great to hear from you.
