A longstanding Quiner’s Diner reader came up with the perfect description of a liberal:

“A liberal is someone who believes you can’t change your sexual orientation (because you were born with it), but you can change your sex (even though you were born with it).”

    I enjoy reading your blog. I appreciate your point of view though I don’t share it. But why insist on perpetuating the false dichotomy of “liberal” vs “conservative”. You seem like you might be smarter than that. It’s a game political people play, not good Catholics.

      Liberal/conservative labels seem to cut across politics and help us understand even religious divides.

    Who you’re attracted to, isn’t a choice. Neither is how you identify, gender-wise.

    Who you’re attracted to and how you identify in your gender are not choices, so yes changing your physical sex is most definitely an option.

      Thanks for sharing this perspective, which certainly is a new tenet of the Democratic Party. I don’t agree with it, even though I think you are correct in some circumstances. Check back. I’d like to flesh it out in some future posts. It is a complex issue, which has been reduced to an either/or scenario. Again, thanks for visiting and sharing your perspective.
