Motherhood is not a disease

Your attitude toward Motherhood will be influenced by your political views.

If you are a conservative, you view motherhood as an honored position in family life and our communities.

Conservatives revere the role women play in bringing our children into the world; for nurturing them and loving them; for helping to civilize the boys and cultivate grace in the girls.

Conservatives see each gender as having different roles and strengths, none more obvious than the role of mothering.

Conservatives tend to vigorously embrace the idea of the 5th Commandment, and believe that children flourish when born into families with a married mom and dad, a notion irrefutably supported by data.

Liberals have a distorted view on motherhood, since in their politics, they view human life as a disease. In recent years, the focus has been on suppressing creation and preserving laws that allow the killing of our babies. You may recall how a couple of years ago Hollywood liberals wanted to suppress Mother’s Day, as reported by LifeSiteNews.com:

“This Sunday, children of all ages will celebrate the role mothers play in their lives. But Vogue model Christy Turlington Burns and a host of female celebrities are encouraging mothers across the nation to ignore their children as part of “No Mother’s Day,” a sign of their support for reducing maternal mortality by supporting family planning and global access to abortion.

The campaign asks women to “disappear” on Mother’s Day to raise awareness of maternal mortality rates and underscore “just how much a mother is missed when she’s gone.” But amidst positive initiatives such as improved health care for complications such as hemorrhage and sepsis, the campaign prominently promotes “safe” abortion, and the legalization of abortion in nations where the practice is currently illegal, as a means of lowering maternal deaths.”

You can see how, politically speaking, the liberal works hard to advance public policy that denigrates and suppresses motherhood. Motherhood is treated as a disease. To the conservative, motherhood is beautiful. This weekend, honor the mothers in your life.

This Mother’s Day was my first as a grandmother. My grandson, who was born in January, was what my daughter calls an “oops” baby — definitely unplanned, and totally inconvenient. No doubt the ghouls at Planned Parenthood would have been happy to slice and dice him and flush him down the drain (for a small fee), but thank God my daughter never even considered going that route. Every day we are so thankful that she chose life.
