Perhaps the plan isn’t working?
“Since the 60s, we’ve spent over 19 trillion dollars on the war on poverty. What do we have? 10 times more people on food stamps, more welfare, more incarceration and crime, broken families, out of wedlock birth.” DR. BEN CARSON
Great quote! At what point do we as a society say enough is enough? For Liberals, probably never because they have no motivation to admit that their policies have failed. As long as they’re getting the votes by promising handouts, they simply don’t care. Their stranglehold over their voters is simply ridiculous.
Yeah, I can see it now, Congressional committees and investigators all trying to get to the bottom of the situation. They can probably stretch the investigation out for another fifty years or so.
There are aspects of the Great Society programs that worked well, and continue to work well. There are others that created perverse incentives and made our society worse, but created political opportunity for liberal politicians. That’s why it’s so hard to root out counter-productive public policy.
