My take on this. Cruz could have touted the party regarding what its leaders will do, in order to make America great again, without endorsing the nominee. It’s all about America, and the party, not Trump, nor anyone else. You just don’t want to provide more ammo to the liberals.

I agree with parrillaturi. I understand why he didn’t endorse, but don’t show up then.
I’m not suggesting he should have backed Trump. He would have been better served to explain his offense at the jabs at his family, elsewhere.
