Donald Trump and the Chicago Cubs
By Tom Quiner
The Cubs were down three games to one in the World Series.
The odds of them coming back and winning were only fifteen percent.
Interestingly, that was the same betting odds (as of last Friday) of Donald Trump coming back and winning next Tuesday’s election.
Then the Cubs won game five, and then game six of the series last night. Guess what, their odds of winning tonight’s final game has risen to something like 71%. The momentum of coming back from a three to one deficit is hard to withstand at the finish line.
As for the presidential sweepstakes, after the FBI was forced to reopen Hillarygate and take a reluctant closer look at her corruption, polls started to move.
Donald Trump is leading in Ohio, which he HAS to win to have any chance of winning the national election.
The same goes for Florida, and Trump has taken a narrow lead there.
Same for North Carolina, and Trump has even taken a narrow lead there.
The election betting odds have seen Trump raise his odds of winning from 15% to 27% in the last five days.
He still has a long ways to go, but the race is tightening.
Between the World Series and the presidential election, we are witnessing some historic contests. No matter what one thinks of any of the participants, you can’t claim that you’re bored.
But I can claim that I’ve stopped following the election. It’s just too depressing. Leave it in the Lord’s hands.
I can’t wait till advent. The race to Jerusalem is much more uplifting than the race to the White House.
I like that.
I hope it’s not 108 yrs between republican presidents.
I hope not!
