Most “poor” dont know what REAL poor looks like. 40 yrs ago,mom worked 50hrs/wk in a carpet mill(UGH!). We had no car. phone, air conditioning(in GA. # OMG!DYING OF HEAT EXHAUSTION! only a small space heater w/ several non functioning heat elements (Yes, it gets COLD in the foot hills of the Appalachian Mts. in Jan.) I had no shoes in the Summer (Like Loretta Lynn) and ate tomato soup 9 meals straight once (Maybe twice). Usually, the only meat in the fridge was our heads looking for some ice in trays to deal w/ the heat. It’s NOT how you vote. It’s how you work, study and save(or not) that keeps one poor or lets one move on. Mom moved on, as I did. She voted D to her final days. Poverty of spirit is what is perpetual.
