One must feel able to overcome if one is to productively cope w/ life in this uncertain existence. W/o that, lashing out at the world or self destruction is all one has. It explains the rise in depression, mental illness (not including schitzophrenia of course) and crime. I dont know how I would have dealt w/ the poverty I grew up in if i’d been convinced it was inflicted by evil “others” and I had no way out. I was taught it was the circumstance my mom and I found ourselves in from various things and we could work our way out of it if we tried. We did.
