What kind of guy is Barack Obama?
We know he was sympathetic to the Occupy Wall Street (OWS) crowd. Two years ago, he let them take over McPherson Square.  McPherson Square is controlled by the National Park Service, whose boss is the president. McPherson Square lies in the heart of the nation’s capitol.
The OWS crowd moved in, confronted police and despoiled the square. They defecated and urinated in this park in very public ways. Some occupiers roamed the area naked to make some type of point, although I’m not quite sure what it was.
Maybe it was simply that “anarchy is cool.”
Anyway, the president was okay with this, letting these lowlifes occupy the space for two months.  He let taxpayers pick up the tab to clean up the substantial mess left behind once they cleared out and moved back into their parents’ basements.
The president tried to keep war heroes out of the memorial that honored them.

We know he is not sympathetic to old guys who fought for our country in World War II. An Honor Flight brought in vets on Tuesday from Iowa and Missouri. Their destination: the World War II Memorial on the National Mall. This memorial is open air. It requires no guides or staffers. You just walk up and soak up the impact of the sacrifice World War II exacted from the “greatest generation.”
Even more, the memorial by law was built and is maintained by private funds held in trust.
So the government shutdown should have had no effect on the WWII Memorial. But it did.
Someone directed the Park Service, whose workers were furloughed because of the government shutdown, to bring back seven employees to erect barricades around the war memorial.
Someone went out of his way to keep war heroes from gaining access to what is usually an open air experience.
Someone wanted to make a point.
Who could this someone be ?
Quiner’s Diner suggested it was the president himself. A QD reader fired back:

“Do you really think Obama personally told them to put up those barriers specifically to stop these veterans? I would really like to see proof of that. All these places have set procedures for these rare occasions.”

Let’s think this through.
This is an open air memorial. Why put up barricades to keep people out?
The memorial doesn’t require staffing. Why put up barricades to keep people out?
The memorial is funded by private money. Why put up barricades to keep people out?
This doesn’t seem like “set procedures” to me. Does it to you? In fact, it seems that a flunky with the National Park Service is sticking his neck out to pay furloughed workers to come back to do work that is unnecessary.
Interestingly, Republicans passed a resolution to fund the National Park Service, but  Democrats voted it down. In other words, the president and his party seem to be  united in wanting to inflict pain on the little  guy in the hope that voters will blame Republicans.
It turns out that the decision to keep war heroes out of the WWII Memorial DID come from the White House. Carol Johnson with the Park Service says they were told to close the site by the White House’s Office of Management & Budget. So, was Barack Obama involved with making this decision?
Let me put it to you this way. If this happened under George W. Bush’s watch, he would have personally driven to the site and ripped the barricades down himself.
Barack Obama did no such thing, because he wanted war heroes to feel the pain of this Continuing Resolution impasse.
What kind of guy is Barack Obama?
He’ll go to the mat for anarchists.
He won’t lift a finger for war heroes.
I can’t respect a man like that.
Can you?
