Governor Cuomo: Catholics not wanted in New York

No, that was not Governor Cuomo’s exact quote.
Here is what he said:

“Who are they [Republicans]? Are they these extreme conservatives who are right-to-life, pro-assault-weapon, anti-gay? Is that who they are? Because if that’s who they are and they’re the extreme conservatives, they have no place in the state of New York, because that’s not who New Yorkers are.”

A Catholic is by definition pro life. We are called to oppose human abortion laws in the public square, whether we are registered as a Republican, Democrat or Independent.
The extremists are the human abortion mob, of which the governor is a member.
Mr. Cuomo’s slam against pro lifers is rich coming in a state that aborts over half of its black babies. On this Martin Luther King Day, Mr. Cuomo exposes the lie that liberal politicians like him care about the poor and minorities.
Governor Cuomo has pitted his state against the Catholic Church, minorities, and the powerless with this crack. Let’s hope the practicing Catholics in the Empire State make their voices heard.
